Hey all,
I recently upgraded my MIB1 unit to a MIB2 unit (yet another dummy converting their head unit themselves) and have stumbled upon a few faults when running a scan using OBD11. The unit does operate with just a few visual bugs (like the incorrect car on "Background Lighting") - but nothing extreme so far.
The unit was advertised as having CP removed, and going by the function of the head unit, everything works, so I'm not sure what the faults relate to.
For background, the car is a MK7 2014 Golf GTI with ACC and DCC, no fancy side assist or lane assist - I've set those relative adaptations to 'not activated' and thus far the head unit has functioned fine-ish.
The only odd thing I've noticed compared to MIB1 is that the reverse camera stays active on the screen when I drive forward for a few seconds, where I can actually see it closing on the screen, and once it closes the Park Assist stays on the screen until I reach a certain speed.
5F Fault Codes 5F-FAULTS.txt (2.13 KB) & 5F Full Backup 5F-BACKUP.txt (88.52 KB)
My questions here are -
1. Is anyone aware of any 'critical' adaptations required when installing a MIB2 to a MIB1 car? Or is it all case-by-case depending on what features your car has?
2. Is there a way to change the reverse camera timing? I like that it does stay active on the screen when I drive forward for a few seconds, but seeing it close looks quite janky, is there any way to change the timing so it cuts it out just as the camera closes? Or extend the camera time? (its an RVC LOW)
3. Are there any known steps to take to find what the faults relate to? They all seem to have the same error code with a vague description.
4. Is it an issue that 5F is showing a different cars VIN to my own? Appears to be showing the VIN from the car that the headunit has come out from.
Thanks heaps!
