Hey all, Apologies if I missed a thread that solves this issue, but I could not find it in some extensive searching (and similar thread suggestions did not result in the desired end result). I have a 2015 GTI S that I recently retrofitted with BMP Tuning Illuminator LED Tail lights ( here) I followed all of their install and coding instructions. Using their dynamic harness adapters I am getting what I believe is their ROW stock functionality (dynamic amber turn signals, outer red parking brakes). What I would like is to add red inner brakes. Any time I try to follow previously posted methods for this (or use the OBDeleven 5 brake light app) it results in my left turn signal illuminating whenever I brake. No inner reds light up during this process. I'm hoping an OBDeleven wizard much smarter than I can help me work this out. I'd love to have 5 red brake lights (and not have my ambers light up during braking) as well as maintain Scandinavian rear DRLs. Thank you in advance!

hmm........ not surprising that the 5 x brake-light app didn't work because these tails are very NON OEM.
However, if I'm reading the instructions in the BMP coding guide correctly, the following should do the trick:
Leuchte27NSL RC6 - Lasttyp 27 > LED Bremsleuchten
- Lichtfunktion A 27 > Bremslicht
- Dimmwert AB 27 > 100
- Lichtfunktion C 27 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)

Thank you for your suggestions! I just tried them but unfortunately to no avail. I still only have the outer reds and upper center (third light) when braking. I did not mention before - but I have also retrofitted a Euro switch and RFB automatic headlights kit. I’m not sure if that matters here but I thought I should include it anyway.
I read that some early MY 2015s might use Leuchte26 instead of 27. Should I try committing these adaptations to that channel as well?

That seems to change my outer red lights when altered.

21 & 22? It has been a while sinds i’ve coded the car, but I remember that there were 2 seperate channels that needed to be coded @ the halogen hatch lights. The led are leuchte27.
Edit: wich lights did you retrofit, the pre facelift led’s or the facelift led’s?

Ah that explains a lot. The facelift taillights don’t have brakelights in the hatch. They only have dedicated brakelights on the outer units. witch don’t have a taillight function, only brakelight.

Other folks adding these in their Mk7s seem to have those lights show up. In this video he appears to have them as parking/DRL lights

The units ik the hatch can only be used as tail/ parking/ DRL, not as brake light. Like i said, mk7.5 has the brake lights in the outer units.
The brake light in the outer unit can be coded to other functions as well, but from factory it is only brakelight

Do you know what the coding would be to activate the inner tails for parking/drl? They currently do not operate at all and I'm not sure which settings to apply to which Leuchte channel. Thank you for your help

What type of lights did you have before the retrofit?
Do they work when you turn your lights on?

I had the stock halogen MK7 tails (NAR). Currently if my headlights are on the inner lights do not come on, but I do know the lights work because at some point in trying 1 of many steps to code them they were on as DRLs. I have gone through a lot of different attempts at this point and unfortunately don't remember which one I changed to get that result, because at the time I was only focused on brake functionality

Is going back to the BMP coding an option? According to the seller, that coding should work. If everything works, i can help you make addaptions to code the drl.

I returned to BMP tuning's coding and it didn't work as intended. Got frustrated and removed the euro harness from the equation entirely. Now I have the inner lights, and the outer red lights blink when signaling (instead of the sequential amber light). I'm not sure how something as basic as a harness could be faulty, but I'm starting to think that may be the case. Waiting to hear back from BMP. One of the terminal ends on the harness wire was bent drastically, and I did my best to straighten and recrimp but I wonder if it's been compromised somehow that is affecting a solid connection between the two pins in the connector. It just seems odd that the harness would work right for the sequential ambers, but not the inner reds.
Now that I have basic functionality back - I'm a little worried the brake indication is not bright/distinguishable enough from the inner and outer reds that are just on as running lights when the headlights are on. When I use an indicator they do flash, but I also get the 'fast blink' feedback from the dash light, as if it thinks the bulb is out.
Is there a way to dim down the running light function so when the brake light is lit it is noticeably brighter, or fix the indicator so it stops fast flashing? It doesn't blink fast when using the hazards.
