I have a 2015 M7 Golf R with stage 1 60k miles.
Couple of moths back after I had the stage 1 tune noticed lots of wheel spin under hard acceleration (in a safe endowment within the speed limit), read loads of forums and came to the conclusion I had an issue, popped to my local VAG independent that did the tune and they immediately said "oh yes probably the Haldex pump." a bit annoying as I had the Haldex serviced by main dealer just a month before. They plugged in there box of tricks and yes there was a fault code for AWD system so they had the car in replaced the pump and told me it was all good, but I have to say I couldn't notice any difference and still had wheel spin.
I purchased my self the OBDeleven recently and when I plugged it in sure enough I had a "All Wheel drive (AWD mechanical malfunction) fault code C111307 intermittent". doing some reading and found a really good site www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/generation-5-haldex-fault-finding-repair-guide/ I narrowed it down to front transfer box shot (expensive) or Haldex pump issue(cheaper). I've already replaced the pump so I know that's good and reading the website it mentioned that a common problem is garages not running the pump learn function after replacement so the control module still has the old values from the old blocked or failed pump so the new one never works properly.
It is possible to run the pump learn function from the OBDeleven but it's not obvious ( I did this on my ios device):-
Open control module 22 AWD > Basic Settings > Pump motor
you should then bee looking at the pump motor with Status "not active" and a pump motor drop down menu and the green activation slider at the bottom (you need the engine running) I then selected the pump motor drop down menu there is only one option in here "All adaption Values" I selected this and pressed start. I knelt down by the car and could here the Haldex pump running, if the learn function has initiated properly you will hear the pump speeding up as it ramps up the pressure to the 42bar pressure relief and then drops down, it does this a few times it took approximately 55 seconds and the process completed automatically.
Following the learn function I checked the Pump calibration values in the live data section and had all 0's which I believe is normal following calibration, I then took the car for a short drive and the grip feels much better with hardly any wheel spin when I got back I had to turn of the ignition and back on again for the calibrations values to update but they look good for a healthy pump, see table below.
I have done a few hard accelerations now in the lower gears and the extra grip is really noticeable and the fault code has not reappeared, fingers crossed!!
p.s. Sorry just realised I've posted this in Face Lift section! Ooops
