Hi
I have a mk7 golf r uk spec, I recently brought the car and had to recode the rear lights back to standard as the previous owner had them doing some crazy stuff. I have an issue with the afs and cornering lights have seen there are know issues with these but before taking into the dealership to repair was wondering if maybe the previous owner had incorrectly coded something wrong. When the fault happens I get a yellow warning triangle in the dash display a faulty on the radio display saying ERROR CORNERING LIGHT (AFS) when I read the fault code in headlight regulation C108313 LEFT STATIONARY AFS OPEN CIRCUIT and also there is HEADLIGHT REGULATION FAULTY CU. I have checked and test the bulbs and they are fine was just wondering if there was any coding anyone knew off I could check to make sure the car knows it has the lights on both sides
Thanks

Hi,
Try replacing the AFS control module under the headlight first!!!
I made the horrific mistake of buying a new headlight only to find out that it was the AFS controller under the headlight causing the same fault.
The part number you need is 3D0941329E - Make sure it is the exact part number as it wont work otherwise.

carl: hmm........the fault description suggests an equipment fault - not a coding problem!
If this was my car, I would swap the left/right modules in the headlight fittings (as bcool suggests).
Then clear the faults and re-poll the car - does the new fault descriptor follow the changed position of the original left-side control module? If so, likely a faulty module. If not, maybe check wiring/connectors on the left-side headlight fitting.

My faulty AFS module gave me a mechanical fault code for the swivel module inside the headlight, after some research and talking to VW they said its not possible to change the swivel motor in the headlight you have to get a new one.... Hence why i purchased a new light unit ($1500 AUD) and was furious to find out it was a $150 secondhand part that fixed it!!!
