I have the first gen obdeleven and I haven't used it for a while. Today I fired it up and the app got updated, dongle did not. My phone has also updated to android 12 since last time. Not sure how relevant this is.
Now I can't get the dongle to connect at all. The red led lights up as soon as I plug it in but no other leds light up or blink at all. When connecting with the app a get error message "Unplug and plug the device back in, then try connecting again." The device shows up in the connection list and I can pair to it via the bluetooth menu.
So far I have tried: unplug/plug (duh)
turning bluetooth off/on deleting device pairing device reset cache for app
a different phone with older android
Nothing seems to work at all. Is there anything else to try? Might the device itself be bricked? If I have to buy a new one, can I buy just any version of 1st/2nd gen and still use my lifetime pro account?

It looks your device is broken. Try to contact the support team. Your pro account works with all adapters. The old ones or the new.
But the connection should be work. Are you sure that you did not something wrong while you hade the connector plugged and he get a damage?

I forgot the device plugged in and the car's battery discharged so maybe it damaged the device somehow. Good to know I can buy any device.

I have what sounds like a similar problem - Phone and a Tablet can see the dongle (Basic OBDeleven), only a red solid light on Dongle, App sees the dongle - Hit connect and it just says Connecting in bottom left of screen, that changes to Not Connected" along with a red banner along bottom that says to unplug and plug in again and try again. None of that makes any difference. Tried rebooting/deleting reapplying to no effect. Searched on this site but have not found anything that came to a firm conclusion, just dead ends. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or duffo unit? Tried in 2 x mk7 golfs and Mk5 golf same issue Thanks
