Unit needs to be reflashed with EU firmware, next FEC for EU maps needs to be generated by VW and inserted into the unit.

There are guides but it's complicated for couple reasons: 1. VW will not generate FEC/SWaP code for region different than the one that the car was originally made for. 2. ...this means that you can only accomplish this by patching the system and inserting self-generated and not-so-legal FEC/SWaP code. 3. There are different units (MHIG, MHI2, MSTD, MST2 Technisat, MST2 Delphi) and each requires different approach and different tools. Some can be patched/converted with SD card, some required special USB-Ethernet adapter. 4. Since the patching/conversion is done deep in the filesystem and EEPROM of the unit, there's a risk of bricking the main unit.
