Hi Guys,
New member here,
I am in need of some assistance with an annoying error code:
____________________________________________________________________________________________________ OBDeleven data log

VIN: WVWZZZAUZEW213959
Car: Volkswagen Golf
Year: 2014
Body type: 5-dr hatchback
Engine: CXSA 90 kW (122 HP) 1.4 l
Mileage: 145895 KM

System description: KOMBI
Software number: 5G0920861
Software version: 2210
Hardware number: 5G0920861
Hardware version: 252
ODX name: EV_DashBoardVDDMQBAB
ODX version: 008031
Long coding: 27A519082B80000800083A00040000
Trouble codes:
B200100 - Control module Incorrect software version
static ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
I tried searching for a solution online using multiple different ways to try and look up the code, description, etc.
Is there a way to update the software via OBDeleven app or is it only something the dealer can do?
EDIT:
One thing to note is that I do have an aftermaket infotainment system installed (OneNav) but there are none of the common errors as the long coding has been changed to correct those error codes.

hmm........... difficult to be precise, but clearly some part of the car isn't happy with the software version on the hex17 module.
If you have not made changes to the car other than the OneNav, I suspect that new equipment is sending a CAN based instruction to the Dashboard module that isn't being recognized.
Updated software is NOT something that OBD11 can do - you need another device, like the dealer tool ODIS, or VCP. But the problem is that even if you update module firmware, you can't be certain that new software will be compatible with such an old module. These type of strange errors are not unexpected when non-OEM equipment is installed!!
Maybe seek advice from OneNav, or if the error isn't causing a problem, just live with it!!

Hi dv52. Thanks for the reply.
It makes sense that the car is a little unhappy with the non-OEM head unit.
There are a lot of settings and features on the OneNav head unit that is not compatible with my car and as such had a lot of coding changed around the multimedia and infotainment system.
It's only annoying, not detrimental to the actual operation of the dash unit and I haven't noticed any errors in operation on the actual dashboard.
Will do as you suggest and just live with it rather than fiddle with it and risk rendering something inoperable!
