Hi All,
My car recently went in to Audi after I reported some stuttering happening in high gears, low revs, very low throttle opening... think coasting from 100km/h in 7th gear down to 70km/h then really lightly touching the throttle. Feels kind of like a manual car that's trying not to stall (we call it kangarooing in Australia, though it's nowhere near as severe as that) but the revs are around 1000rpm... and as soon as you use a bit more throttle then it's perfect again. No issues in low gears and there's no noises like clunks or anything when it happens, it's perfectly quiet.
Anyway, Audi looked at it, said they couldn't find anything wrong but they applied an engine software update and did a long adaption reset on the gearbox.
Nothing has changed but since the car came back from Audi I see a fault code on OBDEleven on the ECM module called P161200 Incorrect Coding. This fault code did not exist on the car prior to it going to Audi and if I clear the code then it comes straight back. There is no light on the dash and the car is otherwise normal.
Before I go back to Audi, I want to understand if the coding itself is actually wrong or if something else is wrong with the car causing the coding to be reporting as incorrect.
The current long coding on the ECM is 4A 2A 40 32 25 26 03 02 00 00 and the car is stock. I don't have a record of the long coding prior to the car going to Audi as the only change I've ever made to the coding is to disable the engine shutoff when opening the drivers door which was done via the OBDEleven app but since that's module 46 and not 01 it isn't that. Incidentally, when the car came back from Audi, the engine shutoff from the drivers door had been enabled again.
If someone out there with a 2013 A6 Biturbo S-Line could look up their ECM long coding to compare to mine that would be great. My car is an Australian delivered car if that makes a difference.
Cheers,
Dave
