Hello,

I am new here with my brand new OBD11 dongle with PRO mode.

I have scaned my car and found some isse which i dont know how to fix. When i try to clear the fault they are coming back again and again. I know that errors about component protections will be stand forever because i have upgraded my infortaiment system.

But i mostly concerned about the error in Module 01 - Engine. I dont know which sensor, module or maybe some coding are bad in the system and why engine module doesnt recive data information. I will be very thankful if someone try to help me or give me advices what i have to do with it.

greeey : Hi. The error on the hex01 module is non specific- so it's not clear (to me, at least) if it results from a particular matter related to the engine, or if it is the result of another error in a separate module (i.e. cause and effect)

Your scan contains 2 x "implausible" errors, both of which are "static"-meaning that they are stable; on the hex01 module and on the hex44 module.

My hunch (emphasis my guess) is that they may both be related. But I am guessing -so it is possible that I may be incorrect!!

In any event, you do need to investigate the central locking problem on the passenger door - my advice is to tackle this matter first and when fixed, clear the error and see if the hex01 module DTC re-appears.

I probably assumed that it was the result of the gateway's role as the CP master module and the twin CP error in the MIB. I would have assumed that this was the normal dynamic for a hacked retrofitted hex5F module.

Do you think that the CP error is any more significant than the hacked MIB?

hmmm...... yes, VCDS has pulled-down different freeze-frame information about the ECU fault (interesting that the date is different) - but I'm not sure that it adds any more intelligence to the fault-cause.

As I have said, I suggest that you fix the door error first - then reset the error messages and see if the ECU fault returns.

Just thinking. I dont get one thing. I have instaled Cruise Control System. And my brother got the same Cruise Control System on his GOlf 7. His buttons on the left side on the steering wheel are different than mine. On the left side i got buttons like RES, I/O, SET, CNL and +/- and the black button in the middle is "empty" just black and i cant press it. My brothers steering wheel with the same CCS instaleed have almost the same buttons but in the middle - / + on the black button he got CNL function and under black button he got button "mode". I dont know if i explained exsctly what i mean so i put the photos to see the difference.

Thats buttons in my brothers car.

The difference is to do with the software versions for cruise control

This is how your brother's buttions work:

Increasing the set speed (during CCS control):

Briefly press the RES button on the multifunction steering wheel to increase the speed in small increments of 1 km/h (1 mph) and to store the speed. The vehicle accelerates actively until it reaches the new set speed.
Press the + button on the multifunction steering wheel briefly to increase the speed in increments of 10 km/h (5 mph) and to store the speed.
Press and hold the + button on the multifunction steering wheel to increase the speed continuously until the button is released and to store the speed.

Decreasing the set speed (during CCS control):

Briefly press the SET button on the multifunction steering wheel to reduce the speed in small increments of 1 km/h (1 mph) and to store the speed. The system will decrease the speed until the new set speed is reached by easing off the accelerator without actively braking.
Press the - button on the multifunction steering wheel briefly to reduce the stored speed in increments of 10 km/h (5 mph) and to store the speed.
Press and hold the - button on the multifunction steering wheel to reduce the speed continuously until the button is released and to store the speed.

Your CC works the same (but it might operate in 10 km/hr increments only). However, clearly without the +/- options above yours doesn't allow for the different increment values

I bought 2 locks unit from 2nd hand but its looks like new and was from cars with small odometer. But the replacment lock unit doesnt fix the faul about central locking... i dont know why...
It is possible that there is any problem with passenger door module? So maybe i have to change passenger door module? Also i have checked the wire on the doors and everything looks good to me.
The all doors closing normally i dont have any trouble with them but i want to eliminate this faul.

Regarding CC images: upper photo shows control unit with cruise control and limiter. lower cruise control only.
dv52 has already noted this with the reference to different software versions for cruise control.
It is possible that the button unit does not match the CC control unit version and therefore an error message occurs.

Yeah exactly, i guess the same as you. But i have not other buttons switch to check and prove that. And i dont want to buy it blind.
Is there any other way to prove which version of CC i have instaled in my car? Maybe is there any way to check this in the system or by modules?

clear the error - does the error return?

if so, retain above modification and:

Byte 02 - change from hex00 to hex01 (i.e. set Bit 0)

clear error - does the error return?

If so - the passenger door has reverse-dip enabled - which means that the module thinks that it has a memory module installed. Does reverse dip operate correctly on the car? Or more specifically, does the mirror return to the proper starting position after reversing?

Unfortunately, I have no information about which combination of keypad and control unit/software version go together.

Maybe there is someone else in the forum who knows this and may have already realized it.

I once read that with ACC retrofitting, the appropriate keypad must also be installed so that it works. Hence my idea. Google it to see if you can find more information in the ACC retrofit forums.

Omg dv52 (Australia) you are great! It works and after cleared the fault it doesnt come back i guess it wont - i did many tests.

After change Byte 10 bit 4 nothing happend. But after changed byte 02 bit 0 and cleared fault it wont come back. Even my lock button on drivers side start to light orange when the car is locked. Earlier color of the light lasts normal white when car was locked.

Can you explain me what this function does? Lock without safe motor? And Windows motor post run (except North American region)?

Similar options are in module 09 Byte 08 bit 6 and Byte 09 bit 6

Central locking witout safe function and Door locks without safe function for North American region.

What does this functions do?

Its not like this i made this changes and its only camuflage the real problem in my car by disable the functionality?

Anyway its without fault right now and i am happy but i want to know if everything its like it should be.

"Safe motors" refers to the feature that VW calls "Safelock" - this makes the interior door handles inactive when the car is locked making the car more difficult to break into.

Safelock is a type of dead-lock -so even if the windows are smashed by a potential thief, the doors still can't be opened. Of course, the disadvantage of Safelock is that children left in these cars on hot days can't get out

So, safelock units have an extra "motor" fitted to the lock mechanism to enable the deadlock function and the door module is told to operate (or not) these motors via the software switch on the long-code string.

On your car, the driver's door was told to NOT operate the safe-motor, but the passenger was told the opposite. Given that the error message was on the passenger door - it was a fairly reasonable guess that your car doesn't have Safelock!

Hopefully it's now clear that there was nothing magical, or particularly smart about the fix!!

Just one fault lasts in engine module 01. - I dont know what to do with it. I got one idea about the keypad on the left side of the steering wheel. I want to replace them on version "from my brothers car" and see what happend. I could even buy the keypad but brand new OEM costs 250 Euros!!!

By the way DV52. Yesterdeay i also did some changes in Module 09 Central electric i want to ask if i did ok. I noticed that in Byte 15 Bit 5 Drive select button and Bit 7 Drive select button without function light. I had these two Bits ticked (installed) but i thinking its impossible because i dont have option to select drive modes by button close to my DSG gear box - and that seems to be what these two options are about right?

Not sure about the fault in your hex01 module - nothing obvious in the long-code string. The date-stamp for the error is the same as your scan date and the error number is different to the hex01 error in your very first scan above - so clearly this is a new fault.

My suspicion, (another guess) is that the error could be related to the Drive select changes that you made in the hex09 module - which must affect the Engine module (if you think about it).

In regard to your attempt to activate Drive select - my understanding is that this function is "Software As Product" (SWAP) - which means that the facility needs a special authorization code (like a license) that is tailored to the VIN for the car. SWAP licenses are normally obtained from a dealer. I suggest that you revert the changes back to factory values and clear the error code in the hex01 module

About new value in fault in Module 01 - i dont know why it have changed but i did more changes not only in Module 09 in Drive select.
I was looking for some adaptations in Gateway and found there in adaptations Multi_function_steering_wheel_control_module Coding Value and tried there make some changes i did them but no results... Maybe because of the different changes there, code has changed in Module 01... I bet it is by this, because i left made settings. CCS is still working, no more new faults after changes...
