Hello all. New member here. In the process of upgrading from a RNS-510 / Dynaudio to what should have been a simply Plug & Play MIB2 PQ +/Nav unit from a very competent independent supplier. When I turn the unit on the volume is very loud with no volume control from the unit or the steering wheel. Every once in awhile after I've been troubleshooting, the unit will start to control volume and everything works great with the Dynaudio system until the car/radio is turned off. The supplier is working with me to 'tweak' the Long Coding. He says he has done over a hundred of these MIB2 retrofits and has never had one returned, let alone have this kind of volume control issue. Who knows, I may have the only defective MIB2 on the planet. If that's the case, then the supplier may send me a different one to use.
The car is a 2014 VW Eos Executive. Yes I know this is a Golf Mk6 forum, but the Eos is built on a Mk6 platform and this forum has more traction than the Eos forum. I did have to change out the rear view camera to a MIB2 compatible camera and all is good on that end. Everything works except initial ability to control volume. It's as if the MIB2 is having trouble communicating/hand-shaking with the Dynaudio amp; and then sometimes after awhile it does communicate and all is well for a short time. Very confusing and frustrating. Obviously my Plan B would be to reinstall the RNS-510/original camera, but I'd really like to get this MIB2 to work consistently with the Dynaudio system.
So what I would like is if anyone has done a similar swap or have a MIB2/Dynaudio set-up; could you share your 5F Long Coding? I have changed my Long Coding once per the supplier's recommendation and rebooted the MIB2, but to no avail.
I have searched extensively on this forum, youTube, Ross Vag-Com forums, VWVortex and other places for similar volume control issues, but they usually reference no or low volume, not a Loud uncontrollable volume. For what it's worth, if I connect my phone to the MIB2 using Bluetooth and play SiriusXm from my phone, I can control volume using my phone.
On a plus note, I was able to easily make 3 App changes which we always wanted:
DRL OFF with handbrake ON, Emergency braking lights Brakes and Turn signals, and Comfort turn signal to 5
Thank you in advance to all you experts.
