Good afternoon, I ordered an Audi A3 Sportback 8Y S-Line a few months ago and it will be delivered soon. This in combination with the standard LED lights, so not the Matrix. On several videos and forums I see that the rear lights are not on when daytime running lights are used. Only when it's dark. Is this correct? I think that's a shame, because my current Audi A3 from 2017 does have this and I think it's much nicer. Front lights I have: polatenpolat.nl/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/20201214_131415.jpgTaillights I have (without animation): static.kufatec.com/media/image/15/b4/cf/46461-komplett-set-led-rueckleuchten-fuer-audi-a3-8y-dynamic-blinker-2.jpgIs it correct that I can also switch on the rear lights via your app while running daytime running lights on this 8Y? Scandinavian DRL option? What exactly should I order for this and which plan should I take? Thank you for the help. Greetings Luke

I would hold off for a while. I have a brand new A3 Edition 1 and none of the apps work that I've tried. It seems to not work on cars running the most up to date software which mine has but apps work for cars running the older software, pre October 21 I think or around that time.

There is an app in OBDeleven that sets DRL on.

hmm......... why is this tweak so difficult on a mk8?
I'm not sure about cars that are built on a MQB-evo platform (like the mk8) - but for the previous version Golfs that had a MQB platform, this function was called "Scandanavian DRLs" (which turned-ON the front DRLs, the rear tail-lights and brighter dashboard illumination during daylight conditions)
The tweak instructions for Scandavian DRLs for MQB cars are real simple- like this: - Select Central Electrics module @ address hex09
- Select adaptations
- Search for Tagfahrlicht and select Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht
- Set to active
- If requested, use 31347 as security code
- To operate Scandinavian DRLs - make sure that the rotary light switch is in AUTO position
I've just checked the adaptation database for a mk8 Golf in my MQB-evo library and for a hex09 module with hardware version 5WA-937-086-J, the equivalent channel above lives on the group with the parent name "Daytime running lights".
So on MQB-evo cars, pure logic suggests that this changes step III above to:
III. Search for Daytime running lights and select Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht
Give it a shot - it's an easy try!!!

someone you have done nothing wrong it just you have an older car with KWS protocol, the labels you are looking for are on newer cars running a different protocol so not relevant to your motor. You need to find the instructions for your car not sure if you are running a MK6 or very early MK7 that did not come with UDS Protocol.

Okei.. First, i bought VAG concern OBDeleven "brick" that said can make all VW cars better than they are (but not my 2012 Variant?) Read it with a little smile.. Please www.dropbox.com/s/uqwwfqzm8g003sv/1663090055608.jpg?dl=0www.dropbox.com/s/625444hc8e21n5t/1663090065533.jpg?dl=0 Here it says it CAN do UDS Now we ask this question, i am nor any engineer, not knowing any UDS, what it means, any knowledge of anything, and those backlights should turn on.. So what to do? I have managed to turn automatic rear wiper off, thats something... yeah.. But lights on..? I am willing to learn, if someone helps, try this "brick" tomorrow friends newer Tiguan

Simple fact is it can make your car different I have made many many changes to many many cars.
To your problem do you have a MK6 or a MK7 (Dont care what it says on the app)
When you go to Control unit 09 (you showed us 01) what is the Protocol shown there is it CAN UDS
When you first connected to the dongle you would have been offered 3 different car setup.
golf 2008 - 2019 golf 2012 - 2017 jetta 2010 - 2015
do you recall which one you selected

Note - the following post is specific to the pre-facelift Audi TT Mk2 (8J) - (2007 -2010) * DO NO USE OBDeleven FOR HEADLIGHT ADAPTATIONS and DO NOT PERFORM FACTORY RESET *This problem was discovered by a Forum member in the Audi TT UK Forum and described in post linked below. www.ttforum.co.uk/threads/obdeleven-caused-a-headlight-error-01539.2035685/page-2#post-9654284To see if this was really a bug and not something the OP had done incorrectly, I attempted to run this same re-set on my 2007 Mk2 TT Roadster. The fist thing I did was run a complete auto scan with my OBDeleven to make sure there were no faults present and there were none. I then went into Control Unit 55 Headlights, selected Adaptation then selected " Perform factory reset". This ran for about 5-10 seconds and then the headlight range control icon appeared on the DIS and a 01539 fault was reported that didn't exist before the Adaptation. I tried the Adaptation again and the Basic Setting with no luck. The fault caused by OBDeleven could not be cleared using OBDeleven. Fortunately I was able to clear the fault by running the same Basic Setting with VCDS. Evidently there is a bug in this feature and once the fault code is present, and the fault icon is displayed in the DIS, OBDeleven can not clear it. I've sent an email to the Voltas team describing this problem in hopes they have a fix since it was their device that caused this problem. Setting up DRL with LEDs - For anyone with a pre-facelift Audi TT Mk2, there is an option to replace the DRL incandescent blubs with LEDs which can be done with OBDeleven as a one-touch Apps, Retrofits. Simply replace the front headlight DRL P21 bulbs with suitable LEDs and then run the app. FYI - the image used in this App is my 2007 TT with Bi-Xenon headlights. Scandinavia Option - If you want the tail lights on with the fronts when using DRL, go into Control Units -> Central Electrics 09 -> Long Coding -> Byte 00, Hex 09 Daytime running lights (East Europa) 100%.
