Hi,
I used the ESC Permanently Off app and set it to ASR/ESC off V2.
This caused a tyre pressure sensor error on the dash and fault code, which persists after clearing the code (immediately returns).
I used the app to set it back to original, but the TPMS code persists.
This makes the tyre pressure monitor unable to be used in the infotainment system.
Any suggestions on a fix?
Thanks.

To clarify, it is a failure of the tyre pressure sensor - not just a warning of low tyre pressure.
When I try to reset the tyre pressures in the infotainment it says the feature is unavailable.
The car is a 2016 DSG Australian variant.
I assume whatever change the ESC app made was incompatible, but after resetting back to original it still doesn't allow the fault to be cleared.

whiskeywizard: hmm....... that's exactly the problem with one-click-apps; they make unknown changes to your car and if there are errors, it's anyone's guess what was altered!! This tweak is meant to change Byte 29 long-code on the Brake module. Do you have the PRO version of OBD11? If so, post-up the COMPLETE long code string for the Brake module @ address hex03 -please Don

HMMM........ the form of TPMS that is programmed into your car is set by Byte 27. It's the 3rd last pair of digits on your long-code string. The actual software switches for TPMS are on Bits 4-6
On your picture, Byte 27=B8 or 10111000. Binary number are read from right-to-left - meaning that the right-most digit is Bit 0. So on your car Bit 6=0, Bit 5=1 and Bit 4 =1.
According to my information, this does match a form of TPMS; TPMS (PR. 7K9) w/ Radio (PR. I8A/I8B/I8D/I8E/I8H). But, I'm not sure if any of these PR numbers match the those for your car.
Do you know the PR numbers for your car? Do you have a hex03 long-code string in your back-up/history from before the App? Does this car have a TPMS button on the console What country is this car?

Hi Don, PR numbers attached. Unfortunately I don't have a backup of the brake unit prior to the error. The car does not have a physical TPMS button that I'm aware of. It's a 2016 Golf R DSG (Australian variant), the tyre pressure settings are available in the infotainment system. Car is Australian. Thanks.

Note: I also made a change to deactivate the Starting Vibration setting in the brake unit at the same time. I didn't think it was related, but maybe. Resetting that option to "Strong" doesn't change the error.

So - I'm not sure that there's much to be gained from the PR code list, I was looking for codes 7K1, or 7K9 - because these are PR codes for the indirect tire pressure function. Neither of these numbers appear in your picture - alas
Your 2nd picture on yesterdays post shows Byte 27, Bit4 and Bit 5 ticked (same as my post).
OBD11 says this means "TPMS w/o Radio", or PR 7K1 + PR 8AA. My data says this means "TPMS w/ Radio", or PR. 7K9 + (PR. I8A/I8B/I8D/I8E/I8H). Your latest picture of PR numbers for the car includes I8E, so I'm more comfortable with my interpretation.

Hi Don,
Thanks for your efforts. Any idea on what else I can try to clear the code? Or even just prevent the dash light from showing (I never found the tyre pressure function all that helpful, can I just disable it entirely?)

Not really - as I have said, the big problem with one-click-Apps is that they make undisclosed changes to the car. It's difficult to trace these changes if the user has made a back-up BEFORE using these apps - but it's just a guessing game if no back-up exists.
You could try contacting OBD11 admin - they know the exact nature of the changes that they put into the app

For anyone having this issue - Fixed it by running the "TPMS Reset" app in OBDEleven at their supports' suggestion. Using an app to fix an issue caused by an app . Anyway, all sorted now. Thanks for the help Don.
