Well for lane assist, you need two things, two hardware pieces:
- The front camera on top of your windshield (the one for city pre-sense). Not the front camera from the grille.
- Side assists which is the yellow LEDs on the inner side of your side mirrors for the upcoming car warning.
I tried to code manually but ended up using the 100 credit app to activate it and it worked on my 2020 A4.
Now once activated, because you probably do not have the extra button on the left arm on the left side of the steering wheel. it will always be on (unless you code it back to off) but you can change the lane assist to work "Early" or "late". Early is if you want that "self steering" experience. Late usually ends steering you back in your lane a bit too late in my opinion. ( my wife has a 2022 Q5 and has the feature by default so I know how it feels from factory).
Once it is correctly activated, you should see a yellow lane assist icon which means it detects no lines yet.
Lane assist only activates when it sees the lines on the floor and if you are driving 40 mph or above.
To use those apps to unlock those features, you need to buy the obdeleven dongle and have credits in your account.
Note that every time you are coding something new, the hood has to be open, ignition on, engine off .
