Hello all, This is my first post,
I have an issue were, if I select parking lights using the light selection dial, my MIB2 display screen brightness changes to 100%. This brightness is now locked, it can't be changed in the infontainment brightness settings (the changes I make on the brightness slider are not reflected on screen brightness). Once I move the light selection dial back to auto, the screen slowly goes back to original brightness.
I have used the obd app to look at live data from 5f. I can see that when I switch to parking lights the "Terminal 58xd dimmer" changes value to 125%. Which I believe controls the screen brightness.
after quite a bit of research I have yet to come up with a solution to my problem

@rezvee: In a "normal" central electrics module for a mk7, there are 44 x different adaptation channels that relate to the 58xd rail voltage!!! So it's going to be very difficult to pin-point where the problem is.
I suggest that you look at your records in HISTORY to identify what changes you have made that might have caused the behavior. Of course if the problem was caused by one-click-apps, even this won't help!!

My guess into the blue is; Daytime running lights -> Standlicht aktiviert zusätzlich Tagfahrlicht

dv52 (Australia)This issue started after I retrofitted a MIB2 and 8" screen. my old MIB1 didn't have this behaviour. I noticed that initially after the retrofit, when using the parking lights, the screen + the steering wheel button, window button lighting would go to 100%, I looked in my history, and reverted a change, this resolved the lighting issue with the buttons but NOT the screen. I'm really not sure of what other "accidental" changes that might've screwed the screen brightness. you mention the 44x different adaptation channels, do you have more info on them? Maybe it might be a long manual process but it might be worth a try. newty, I'll have a look at that.

Some more information which may help; I usually keep my lights on Auto, but when I turn off the engine, but key is still in, there is a reminder on the infotainment which says don't forget your phone. During the sequence where the infotainment turns off and this screen pops up, the screen also goes to 100% brightness

dv52 (Australia) This issue started after I retrofitted a MIB2 and 8" screen. my old MIB1 didn't have this behaviour. So-my guess is that the behavior is set in firmware and it is therefore not code-able by OBD11 - but I'm more than happy to be advised otherwise.
And again I'm guessing - but the phenomenon might be linked to the fact that if the rotary light switch is left on PL position when the ignition is turned-OFF (but the key still inserted), the car is expecting to initiate the Single-Side-Parking-Light function. Or, if the turn-signal stalk is NOT set to either Left/Right position, the car is warning that PL will remain switched-on.
So-perhaps 100% illumination is a way of highlighting these matters to the driver (maybe)?
dv52 (Australia) you mention the 44x different adaptation channels, do you have more info on them? Maybe it might be a long manual process but it might be worth a try. It really depends on the module type - but if you go to adaptation in the central electrics module and you enter "Innenbeleuchtung KL 58x" into the search box, you should get 88 x hits - 44 of which relate to "58xd"
