I have a P0299, inactive, permanent code, on my 2012 A4 with 93K miles, I have gone thru over 17 warm-up cycles and 250+ miles, after repairs and the last MIL reset, currently there is no CEL and no active codes. However, the smog guy, a test-only station in California, says the permanent code needs to go away before the smog test will pass.
Would this permanent code will auto-reset, if so under what conditions?
