I bought a used 2007 Rabbit and unbeknownst to me, it had a tuned ECU and it's not passing California Emissions. I decided to keep the ecu and buy a second. I bought a supposed plug n play ECU from flagship1. It's throwing a CEL and it says it's unable to connect to the ECU.

I know the ECU can be changed from auto to manual in the ECU using VAGCOM but I'm trying with my OBD11 and it just says "Function not available" with the engine off and "Function cancelled, marginal conditions not met".

Is there a way to change the engine control unit to 5 speed manual from 4 speed automatic?

I suspect it is just a part of the EEPROM that would have to be reflashed to change that setting.

whataboutthis: le4dsoldier if you have a pre 2024 VAG motor that is supported and you have the Pro or Ultimate license you can code Adaptions and long Coding but after 2024 SFD2 STOPS YOU. SFD Can be unlocked but basic plan only allows you to use OCA Nov 21, 2024 16:52:53 GMT
