Hi all. I’ve searched the forum and haven’t found an answer to my specific issue. So here goes. I have a 2017 Mk7 GTI Sport, US spec. This car did not come with fogs or automatic headlights. I have added aftermarket auto lights with this kit from USP. The switch is OEM. www.uspmotorsports.com/RFB-Automatic-Headlight-Conversion-Kit-MK7-Golf-GTI.htmlI am attempting to code the "DRL Only in Auto" mode. I performed the following modification: 1. Select Central Electrics (module hex09) 2. Select Security Access 3. Enter code 31347 4. Select Adaptation 5. Select Aussenlicht_Front 6. Select Tagfahrlicht nur in Schalterstellung AUTO 7. Change Value to Aktif/Active 8. Slide green bar to set What has happened is that I can now turn off the DRLs when the switch is in the OFF position. But they do not come on in AUTO. The headlights still come on automatically at dusk as they should. (Also to note, I’ve turned on the Scandinavian DRL function as well, if that makes any difference.) I was concerned this would be the case, as my car does not have a factory automatic headlight function. So maybe there isn't the wiring in the car that is needed? But is there a coding workaround that would achieve the desired result? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!

Hi Don -- thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately, that didn't make a difference. Is there anything else to try? Thanks again!

Mick: Bummer!! I'm reticent to suggest other changes, because I suspect that it's just aggravating an already complex diagnostic problem
Hmm.......... if this was my car - I would definitely back-track (meaning that I would try to find if it's the new switch, or coding that's causing the issue).
Maybe start with your History records - try reverting the changes that you made until the DRLs reappear in the AUTO position.

I've reverted all of the previous changes, one by one, just to see what happened with each. No success. But my DRLs now behave as they did before; on in the OFF and AUTO switch positions.
I found your "Mk7 Lighting explained" document and am going to give that a read through to better familiarize myself with the logic of how the car's lights are controlled before making any further attempts. Thanks for taking the time and effort to pull all that together!
