This was coded on my NAR 2019 VW Atlas and MK2 Tiguan and should be applicable to MK1 and MK2 Atlas and MK2 Tiguans, to include all model years from those generations.
ACC Boost Function
About app
The app will enable the Res button to also act as the accelerator when the driver presses and holds the Res button during ACC and helps with passing at a greater speed than the default programming of overtake assistance.
Function
When a driver is using ACC or intends to resume to previous set speed, the driver can press and hold the Res button to accelerate to the desired speed or assisting in overtaking a car than the normal default programming of ACC.

And this works (quite logically though) only if "Operation_mode_1", not "Operation_mode_2":

The setting of speed increments (+ 1 km/h settings) via the RES button is then no longer possible. Tested it on my Tiguan MK2 (MY20).

No issues experienced with my MY19 or my dad’s MY20 Tiguan. Do you have an ROW model?

No, it's a German normal ("short") Tiguan MK2 (MY 2020), produced in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Then that seems to be the difference.
