Son and I installed Rear LED Tail lights on his MK6 GTI.
Used Long Coding to remove the errors he got on startup.
-09-Cent Electrics, Byte 18, changed Hex from 20 to 15.
This removed the errors great, but we lost his DRLs in the process.
We replaced "15" back to "20". The tail light errors returned, but the DRLs have not.
What went wrong? How do we get the DRLs back?

May don or matthew can help here. I hope you will fix it because byte 18 is very dangerous to change, i explained it anywhere in forum. I changed byte 18 once and get in a big light trouble.

I do remember you forewarning before for byte 18. What I'd like to get is his entire coding list so I could load that module in Ross-Tech's VCDS with the appropriate label file to give him a suitable answer in this regard. If I had a MK6 Golf to try it on, I'd be able to give an answer right away since I could replicate Roofstomp's situation with the long code helper and the most up to date labels. I'll assist him in taking a gamble with using the MK5 settings since there is a merge in the modules according to the Ross-Tech Wiki site below: wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf/Golf_Plus_(5K/52)Quote: Note: The Comfort System known from earlier Models has been integrated with the Central Electronics / Body Control Module (BCM) and is no longer available as a separate Address/Module. All related Diagnostics/Settings have to be performed via Central Electronics / Body Control Module (BCM). End quote^^^ So there is no more BCM or Comfort System. I'd then assume that looking at my MK5 Central Electronics should do the trick to resolving that issue (I've always considered the MK6 Golf as the lighter face-lifted model of the MK5). How do I get and provide; "...entire coding list"?
I only have a couple of months of experience with the OBDeleven and I appreciate any/all the help and support.

When you open the OBDeleven app, you tap on the SCAN button. this would read all your error codes and configuration from your modules.
Don't clear these error codes at that point (I'd want to also be able to see those).
You should then see an icon in the upper right hand corner to e-mail the scanned results to yourself, which you would then post here.
You can mask the last 6 digits of your VIN if you like.

There is a glitch in the latest version in OBDeleven where it categorizes your engine as seen above as the older engine like mine at 147KW

if you have halogen headlights try to change it to 1F, that is what works on mine.

I am going to resurect this thread as I do not see a solution. I have a 2013 Golf R (US car). I installed euro tail lights and tried to disable the bulb out warning using various threads on here. I was unable to get the bulb out warning to go off and while coding I also lost my DRLs like mentioned above. Spent some time messing around and even changing all coding to where I started from. Still no DRL and also still have bulb out warning.
Any help would be appreciated....I hope I don't have to find someone with VCDS to correct this.
