Let's say someone was really excited to start coding and maybe had a few cocktails doing so. And then they screwed up a bunch of areas including chasis control, adaptive lighting, you get the idea. Is there any "master reset" to restore factory settings? 2016 Audi RS7. Please help! I don't want to make things worse. TY.

What tool did you use to do the coding? OBDELEVEN keeps track of all the changes made using it. Perhaps VCDS does the same, not sure as I’ve not used it.
Other than that, no way to “factory reset” that I’m aware of other than taking it to the dealer and somehow convince them to reflash all the modules in the car.
Good luck!
Cheers… DoC

I used obd2 eleven pro. I read on here that if you use reset all adaptations then you HAVE to take it to the dealership. True?

I don’t know but it’s NOT something I would want to try. Just go through your history and undo whatever you did to cause the problems.

loco187 : Most definitely DON'T use the factory reset function in the module!
It might sound as if "factory reset" will take the car back to the state when it left the factory - but it doesn't do this!!
When you use "factory reset" in the module, it takes the module back to the factory state when the module itself (not the car) was built! This state is BEFORE the module was installed in the car and BEFORE the module was programmed by VW/Audi on the assembly line

Just adding a couple things to this thread. Firstly for non UDS Control units the following should be noted support.obdeleven.com/en/articles/5608791-adaptationschannel 00 has some special functionality. By saving the value 0 in channel 00 it resets all adaptation values to their original factory defaults. This only works in the control units that support this function. To find out if this procedure applies to the control unit in your vehicle check your factory repair manual). Secondly the old Control Unit 03 reset function has now been removed, not sure if it is on other control units However on Control units on my car there is a Reset function that shows Hard Reset, Key Off On reset and Soft reset, have to say I don't fully understand what they do (and there is nothing in the help files I can see) but I am guessing they don't clear the long coding but happy to learn more from others that have used the function.

I have the exact same issue. Anybody ever find out how to get back to original settings? Naturally I didn’t backup before I started messing about…
