Hey guys, I have an American Spec 2016 Golf R. I recently busted my Headlight and replaced with one of my buddies. When I replaced it, I noticed my headlights don't regulate themselves and my corner lights don't work at all. Would someone ( dv52 (Australia) ) be kind enough to help me resolve this issue. I've found a similar thread but he had a gti. Not sure howuch different the coding would be but I tried best to sort it out and still no luck.

ewar15 : Hi. I need more information. What type of AFS master module is fitted to the car (hex55 module or hex4B module?) What are the details of left and right side output power subsystems on the AFS modules? What other errors are on the car? As a general response - if everything is correct on these headlight systems (meaning the datasets on ALL the modules related to the AFS function), the master module automatically codes the 2 x output power subsystem modules. A C1081F0 error generally indicates an incompatibility in the dataset of one of these modules - from your description, I suspect the replacement headlight is the offending module.
I'm not at all confident that OBD11 can fix this problem - alas, I suspect that ODIS tool will be required!

Thank you for this! How do I check if the module is hex4b or hex55, where do I go to look for the power outages? I also have all my old ecu from my previous Headlight. Would you recommend I switch them over? The only other errors are check engine due to my downpipe, and left bulb Short circuit after my install of euro tail-lights. But it doesn't make any lights come or any other issues.

ewar15 All the information is on your scan report. Yes, assuming that your new headlight has the same part number, swap over the module from old unit - you could also try swapping left and right modules on the headlight assemblies (they should be the same) Don

Update!!! It took me a very long time but I figured our the issue. One of my fuzes was blown in the driver side capartment fuse box. I belive it was Fuze 4 or 6. I replaced it and I got power. I was then able to calibrate and do the basic setting to my headlights. After that I replaces both corner lights and everything worked. Thanks again!
