I’ve got the IQ/matrix lights on my Mk8 R and have been to the one click apps to activate high beam memory, however it says that’s it’s already “on”. But I still have to push the stalk away each time to activate it.

Hi! This app currently has on/off values reversed. I've filed a bug report about it some days ago. Select OFF in app to turn high beam memory on and follow updated in-car procedure. It should work fine then.

Try to disable all automatic personalisation / profile changes in the infotainment and switch through the profiles and turn it on. That helps with some other settings to keep retained

It seems like it’s been fixed so ON actually means ON.
Is there anyway to change the threshold so high beam comes on at a lower speed than 60kph/37mph?

So enabling it for all profiles works? Good to hear! You cannot change the behavior of HBA. I am unsure if there are some settings hidden in the HCA development adaption, but we do not know the login to read it

I am interested to switch High Beam on at speeds over 70km/h. I have Led Plus / Led Performance (no matrix) and high beam turn on at about 35-40km/h in dark areas (outside city)

Is there a way this could be done?
Please see the post i created a while back on this issue. The thread is named as follows:
Golf MK8 Iq-Light High Beam Assist Memory
Through adaptations i have only been able to keep the high beam assist memory when ignition cycling. After prolonged periods the memory function does not hold.

It looks like the personalisation is resetting it, so we there is no idea right now.

I don't see this on my OBD App. This would be great to have over here in the UK ?

hmm..................not sure about mk8 - but maybe try this: - Go to central electrics module (@ address hex09)
- Select Adaptation
- in Search box enter "fernlicht" and hopefully you can select Fernlicht_assistent
- Select Fernlichtassistent Reset
- Again hopefully the current value is active - change to not active
- exit OBD11 and Cycle ignition

We saw this only works until bus rest and gets reset as soon as the OCU is refreshing the user profiles it will be reset.
As long as the profiles do save and recall this setting I see no chance of enabling it permanently. This is something we cannot change I am afraid

Maybe it's possible as recent build date cars has this option. Seen this on A3 8Y

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue.
This is because I have to keep moving the indicator lever forwards to activate the Light Assist, and every time I restart the car, it loses its memory.
I've already put in
Central electrics module 09 Select Adaptation Select Fernlichtassistent Reset Again hopefully the current value is active - change to not active
But even so, the car loses the configuration, is there anything else that can be done? I had it working on my VW Golf 7.5 GTI, and on the MK8 R, I can't get it to work.

High beam memory works with newer BCMs, starting from 5WA937086M, AN, AP, AT or BB. These have a far newer dataset and come in cars from 2023 onward. Retrofitting this newer BCM into a sub 2023 car is a nightmare through which I am currently going through. But light assist memory function works...

But light assist memory function works... my Seat Leon KL has BCM 5WA 937 086 E and high beam memory does NOT work, it's so frustrating. I am looking into retrofitting BCM 5WA 937 086 G because it will support the Alarm Horn. can you please elaborate more on newer BCM retrofit? doesn't a >2023 module involve SFD2...?

For the love of God, do not go there. I had BCM revision E and tried to upgrade to revision G, AN and BB. I was unable to retofit any of those successfully, despite having ODIS online, VCP, VCtools and OBD11. In my case I could never get kessy to work (perhaps as it was also a retrofit). On AN and BB, I could not flash memory addresses that control ambient lighting. A VW rep confirmed this is due to SFD2 protection on these units. Only way to successfully parametrize the newer BCMs in my case was to do SVM while having them connected to a car that came from factory with them while also having similar equipment... At the end, I returned the original BCM and sold the car...wasted a huge amount of money as the IMMO can only be adopted on virgin units ...
