I guess not then Don't see why OBD11 wouldn't do the procedures, but I've not done it myself.
Here are the VCDS instructions with translations to OBD11 where needed - Again, I've not done this procedure- so entirely untested!!
Don
Section 1: DSG Prerequisites: Transmission fluid temperature between 30°C - 100°C. You can confirm these temperatures as follows:
- Select Automatic Transmission module @ address hex02
- Select Live Data
- Select Control Module temperature and Clutch temperature air / splash oil
Section 2: In-cabin Prerequisites Make sure that:
- Selector lever is in Park
- Engine is at idle speed - do not press accelerator pedal during this procedure!!
- Parking brake and foot brake MUST be applied during the entire procedure. This can be confirmed by viewing Live Data values:
* Brake Light Switch * Brake test switch
Section 3: Basic Settings Procedure:- Select Automatic Transmission module @ address hex02
- Select Basic settings
- Select Basic settings of transmission
- Set to Active and press Tick to start procedure
Notes - Basic Setting Procedure: - During the basic setting procedure, there may be loud gear shifting noises from the transmission, this is normal.
- Basic setting procedure may not complete successfully if:
- The transmission fluid temperature gets too hot.
- Hand Brake is released
- Foot brake is released
- Engine RPM is increased
[li]Once procedure is complete, - Basic Settings should report Finished Correctly and there should be an indication of this in the Status of Basic Settings in Live Data section
- Check for fault codes in the Automatic Transmission module -if Intermittent fault codes are stored - they should be cleared
[/li][/ul]

There is no resetting the 16+ dsg. It has constant adaptive learning (according to local vw tech)

^^^^ Yes, but the starting point for the adaptive learning process has to be somewhere - when the car rolls off the production line, there must be a predetermined set of engine revs/torque settings/ transmission oil temperatures that the DSG uses which are then modified for driver behaviour. I had thought that this was the point of the DSG resetting process - to take the transmission gear change curve back to the factory settings (perhaps?)

There's a app, done it but doesn't change anything. Still drives the exact same afterwards.

Can anyone confirm that this worked? I can confirm it works, 2016 Golf R Canadian model. It was kind of making a slight clunk sound coming to a stop (around 14km/h) it seems to have smoothed out. There’s another procedure for resetting the clutch pack? Can anyone walk me through that?

Will this procedure work for an 07 passat with an 09G transmission? Had shift kit installed for maintenance reasons and need to reset trans to solve shifting issues.

I haven't done the reset procedure using OBD11, but I've done on a third party workshop which happens to have the official VW electronic tool. DSG did some noises and etc. but I didn't feel absolutely no change to it's behavior. I did it because I though my DSG wasn't working too properly, but at the end I concluded it was only my impression... Probably the resetting will do something useful if you really have a problem with your DSG, which wasn't my case.

I'm getting the same error as you... Does someone know why this is happening? I also get the same error. 2015 GOLF R Any resolution to this bug? I just bought my OBDeleven last Monday and am encountering this problem left and right. Every transmission adaptation and basic setting actions I tried to perform resulted in this "(13) Function cannot be performed, mess. length or format incorrect" error. I have not tried to do adaptations or basic settings with other control units. I am aware of the transmission reset ONE-CLICK-APP, but it does not replace the other adaptation and basic setting functions. Any information or workaround is appreciated. North America 2015 Golf Sportwagen S TDI (EA288) with DSG (DQ250). OBDeleven app version 0.12.1, on Android 4.4.2, LG G2. Incidentally, the transmission reset ONE-CLICK-APP caused my DSG to be stuck in reverse immediately after the reset, for shifter positions D and S in addition to R. Luckily an engine shutdown and restart got it back to normal. If this is the expected behavior, it really should be documented in the ONE-CLICK-APP's description. If it's not the normal behavior, then there is either a bug in the ONE-CLICK-APP, or my DSG has gremlins. Again, thanks for the help.

Hi I'm having the same issue, trying to reset the adaptation values on my 2016 Audi a6 3.0T. has developed a rough downshift from 3-2 when coming to a stop. using obdeleven transmission - basic settings - reset all adaptation values and i get (13) Function can not be performed, mess. length or format incorrect. i noticed my software version for the transmission is 1002 and it says there is an update 1005, may that be the case, if soo how can update the software, can i use obdelven to do that.
btw how do i know if a have a s-tronic or tiptonic, im not quite sure wich one i have, any clue on how to find that out
thanks.

Let's revive this, same issues. I can use the app to to the basic settings no issue, but I can't use any of the other basic settings and was interested in the "start double clutch fast adaptation" one - I get "(13) Function cannot be performed, mess. length or format incorrect".

I have tried several times using both Android and IOS but my Cupra 280 DSG Box just comes up with an error (Not available).
When I raised it with Support (not that that means anything) they said it was a know bug.....
