history.txt (10.33 KB) Full Scan Hello my name is Youri Poort My Car is a VW Tiguan 2012 2.0 TSI 4 Motion EU spec Couple of months ago my ECM and BCM fried them self. I brought the car to a mechanic under a tree. I live on a small island so not allot of options. He installed couple of 2nd hand modules from the US List is ECM, BCM, Cluster, Gateway, Kessy, Steering lock. So the car on the scan thinks its a 2014 its actualy a 2012 He apparently doesnt know how to program. I got mostly everything to work. Currently my Auto headlights dont work. When i select auto my daytime running lights also turn of. My Rain sensor does work it auto wipes with rain I have a Check engine code for 02 Sensor Bank 1 sensor 1 And a Evap leak. It could be that the car is confused and doesnt have the right evap system programmed and its getting confused because it was for a US spec car. i will also add the ECM photo I saw a couple of post how to change Module 09 in adaptations. when i use the unlock code 31347 its say its the wrong code 42013 works but it only shows 16 adaptations options (See photo) I heard dv52 (Australia) is a pro with this stuff. I will include the full scan. The actual vin# is WVGZZZ5NZCW003731 If there is anything else i need to add please let me know

I also cant find my O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Location. Not sure if it has one engine # is CAWA. I do see the location where the plug normally would go O2 Location i just don't see a plug and the wire going to the exhaust

youripoort : Hi and thanks for the PM. Alas, I don't believe that I will be able to help - my knowledge base is for vehicles built on MQB platform cars and your vehicle is built on a PQ25 platform. That said, I do have limited information on a Golf mk6 which used CAWA engine- from the repair manual, it appears that this model had a lambda probe that was fitted before the catalytic converter (called G39), but of course the number of sensors depends on which country the car was sold (and therefore which emission standard applied). So, I suspect that the unused connector that you refer-to, simply means that the car didn't need to satisfy higher emission standards as built. In any event, as for your fault and according to my data (again, for a golf mk6), the heater for G39 is supplied by fuse position 15 on the B fuse block. I suggest that you search the fuse diagram for your car.
If the fuse is OK, then a couple of other possible causes that come to mind: measure the volts on the heater pins on the lambda probe itself - if volts are OK, then maybe the 2nd-hand "Yankee" ECU is coded for their higher emission standards and therefore it expects information from more lambda probes that aren't installed in your engine? I'm just guessing of course!!

Hi Don. dv52 (Australia) yesterday i looked all aroudn the exhaust manifold looking for a place / wire where normally the O2 sensor would live cant find it anywhere. When i am checking the ECM coding its set to a Audi A3 see picture And market set to NA needs to be set to EU RoW same error. When clicking on Emissions Byte 03 I have EU-II and EU-IV so i am thinking its one of them When i try changing it to Tiguan and press code i get Error 31 Engine off key on Thank you again

hmm.......... here's where the lambda probe is fitted on a CAWA engine on a mk6 Golf. Again, I'm really not sure about the long-code values on a PQ25 vehicle - maybe a security code is needed to make your changes, or maybe a different diagnostic mode (i.e. change session in OBD11)? Don

maybe try 12233 as security code for ECU - again, guess

dv52 (Australia) 12233 Access authorizantion Failed (35) login 27971 is the only one i found that doesnt give a wanrning code Its a US spec ECM maybe thats why those other codes are not working The evap code i am getting is P2400 I cleared the code a hour ago it just came back with out even starting the engine. Only ignition on

For P2400- Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit Open, the Signal voltage > 4.4 - 5.6 V. What is your measured volts?

youripoort :does your question mean that the ECU problem is fixed?
The EVAP pump (it's called the fuel system diagnostic pump - V144) on your Tiggy is fitted in the rear right wheel housing behind the wheel housing liner - you will need to remove the rear right wheel and rear right wheel housing liner.
The pump has a 3 x pin connection and you should measure 12Volts (to earth) from pin#3. If not, check fuse B10.

dv52 (Australia)No i still didnt code the ECM. I will check if there is a evap pump behind the wheel liner. Not even sure if it has that evap system.

hmmm......... well that's clearly the cause of the fault- your "yankee" ECU is expecting US emission standards and the equipment for the US protocols ain't installed!!
