Comfort turn signal Flashing cycle from 3 to 5 does not work? Failed message via One Click App. If you change the value in Light control from 3 to 5, error message 31 appears. Golf 8R 2021 with software status 1803. can someone give me a tip? Thanks in advance. Sorry for google translation...

I have also tried both but same error also. Not sure if its a problem with Obd11 or limited by VW software…

hmm.......... I'm guessing about the mk8 - but the same tweak on a mk7/7.5 is a 2 x part process!
The second part (after the coding is changed) is an in-car procedure where the factory settings for the lights is reset using the car's MENU screen.
Not sure if it's the same on mk8, but it's an easy try - so worth a shot IMO
Don
PS: to be clear - I'm talking about factory reset on the car MENU - don't under any conditions use "factory reset" option on the module (via OBD11)

The code did not work on my 2021 Caddy 5 vehicle either. Error message 31 appeared.

Question regarding this option - Comfort turn signal = Is that one of the offered One-Click Apps? Since I don't see it on the OBD website, Mk8 list.

Is it a big problem that some members of this community answer to me?
I buy OBD11 just because comfort turn signals. I expect car in next couple of days.
But, now I cant find one click apps with that function when I choose Golf from the list.
So, on which way is that function available, if available at all?
Thank you.

It doesn't work, the value can't be changed as it gives on error message 31, with SFD unlocked.

Simple because SFD have more than a BASIC level that obdeleven unlock.

Ok, thank you.
Is there a solution to this? Coding, creating a new dedicated one-click app, etc.?
Also, is it possible to change that value with other devices, in service, or in any other way?

Has anyone tried this dv52 that offers?
hmm...........if anyone with a mk8 wants to try - my suggestion (it's a hunch) is:
central electrics module select adaptation search for "light" and select light control select Comfort flasher set point (default value = 3) Change as desired (there's probably a limit in the allowable range - not sure of upper value and I suspect the lower value=1)
The tweak for a mk7 then needed an in-car reset procedure to be completed - like this: Press the Car button on the RHS of the discover/composition media head. Press Set-up on the bottom RHS of the screen In the Vehicle Setting screen, press the Factory Settings panel (it's at the very end of the list at the bottom of the screen) In the Factory Settings screen, under Reset individual settings/data, press Vehicle Press Reset tab in the window that says Reset "Vehicle" settings-are you sure?
I'm not sure if MQBevo platform cars (i.e. mk8) have the same in-car facility as above,
WARNING: the in-car procedure above is NOT the same as factory reset options in the central electrics module - do not use the factory reset options in any module via OBD11!!

Actually, I see no chance here. The Adaption is described as as an 2 bit value. So it can range from 0 to 3. Also in the Adaption channel, it has neighbouring values, so there is no chance for it to be undocumented, but a larger value.

So this modification is not possible? The comfort turn signal cannot be changed, right? Thanks.

Actually, I see no chance here. The Adaption is described as as an 2 bit value. So it can range from 0 to 3. Also in the Adaption channel, it has neighbouring values, so there is no chance for it to be undocumented, but a larger value. newty : OK - as I said, my suggestion was just that (a "hunch")
Here is how VCDS reports the adaptation channel in my suggestion and for the mk7: - ENG174381-MAS07991-light_control-Comfort flasher set point,3 ,4
- ENG141649-ENG116587-Außenlicht_Blinker-Komfortblinken Blinkzyklen,3 ,10
So, as you probably already know, the last number in the descriptor above is the Bit length of the channel. So yes, 2 x Bits for mk8!!
I'm still convinced that this channel is the correct equivalent to the Komfortblinken Blinkzyklen channel in MQB models because it's the only channel in 5WA series modules that has a default value 3 and that is even vaguely related to the flasher!
My deduction is therefore that an upper limit of 3 is deliberately binding on MQB-evo platform cars by design. This suggests that comfort flash on mk8 can be lowered, but not increased!!

Interesting. Adaption adress 110C is what we tried to change here, too. Also, they entered 5 in the only numerical value in that adaption. So they are showing the exact same value which failed here. This is, as pointed out, impossible to write in our BCMs as they only allow 0 to 3 to be entered (2 bit field).
So either they are just manually pushing the stalk to have 5 runs (why else they are sitting in a dark car) or their bcm has different adaptions.
Edit: Or they are telling that this does not work. I do not speak taiwanese.

According to the author they have flashed a customized dataset in the Central Electric 09. Thats how they have managed to get the comfort flashing to 5.

There are plenty of datasets defined for the 09, probably most of then being signed. But honestly, I did not check this in detail.
Keeping in mind that dissecting the driving profile dataset took the expert in this field years, I do not like to believe they found that byte just by trial and error.
Also, changing a dataset will not "expand" the size of the adaption value in the ODX brought by ODIS pr OBD11, "5" is still invalid for that field. Even when they were lucky or had internal sources for the dataset, showing the ODIS adaption channel is bullshit which greatly reduces their trustworthiness.

I have this from JL Sports. A custom dataset was done remotely through Odis and they made it all online. They agreed to have me be the person to coordinate having this done on other vehicles as I am now the US person for their work to be done here. But they still will do the remote dataset customization and what not and it will cost some money. They told me I could purchase the dataset but it’s very expensive as all custom datasets are. From them I have: Auto Lane Change The KLR Off hands steering wheel module The 3 blinks changed to 5 comfort turn.
