Hi folks! This is my first post here! I had come across a check engine light on my car and a month or so back and my temp gauge would act unpredictably and so I finally decided to invest in an OBDeleven.
It picked up fault code: P255600 - static
Today I replaced the coolant temp sensor and It did not seem to have fixed the issue and check engine keeps coming back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You replaced the temp sensor? But the fault code is de coolant level sensor.

Yes. I think I see where my problem is now 🤣 I misunderstood on my research when looking for which sensors to replace. But would the coolant level sensor greatly affect the engines temp from raising and fluctuating frantically at times?

haudi: In a true sense, engine temperature really can't "fluctuate frantically" because of the thermal mass of the engine and therefore because the thermal time-constant stops sudden movements in temperature. My guess is that "engine temperature" (as distinct to coolant temperature) on an A3 is a calculated variable and it's not a long stretch in logic for coolant level to be implicated in the algorithm (I think). In any event, as per DaanA4 , I suggest that you replace the water level sensor (it's called G120) and see if this addresses your concerns Don
