Hey,
Considering the new apps for the Golf 8 I have a question.
I want to limit the coding to a few things as much as possible.
Certain things do not seem to work, and do not want to sit with errors in the system afterwards because of possible warranty.
I want to know if this will work in my car with the control modules!
G-Meter display
Lock/unlock acoustic confirmation ( Head Unit on-off menu )
Refuel quantity in dasboard

Ok i have tested today on my car… with apps and longcoding
G meter dont work on my cluster.
Active view R version dont work only GTI version. Olso long coding tested
Staging dont work long coding
Laptimer dont work long coding
Refeul quantity works
Lock unlock works only you dont have active/ disabled button on the infotainment, i have select to select adaptation/ ZV Quittierungen/Quittungston_hmi_einstellbar.
DRL setting in Head Unit works.
Thats what i have tesed, the other apps i dont want to use.

Afternoon all. So far I have changed a few things using adaption in the control units. Mostly dashboard
One thing I would like to do is to have the map on both the dash and center and if possible is it possible to stop the maps from auto zooming , it’s quite annoying

So today I have tested couple of App's and only Gmeter App worked for me, but I wanted to set the cluster view to Golf 8 R and it would always error out and not do anything :/ On some other VW forum i've found that you can also go to Control Units -> Dashboard -> Adaptions -> View Activation and activate the View 8 and View 9 (see pictures below) and also with View 8 you will get a Lap Timer 🚀 P.s. I have Golf 8 2021 Etsi R-Line Attachments:

I succeeded in getting quite a few to work. Got the refuel quantity in dash to work 2 Different displays (as attached) Needed to go into adaptions to activate display 8 and 9 though. Comfort windows Lane departure warning memory Lock/unlock Acoustic Confirmation And sat nav on the cockpit although this leaves a compass on the MMI when I do that and it wont show the map on both screens at the same time. |

Went out this morning and maps now show in both MMI and dash cluster. No idea what happened but maybe just the system has rebooted but it’s a result I’m pleased with. Attachments:

2022 GTI S trim (Canada - 5WA chassis)
I managed to:
- unlock comfort windows
- turn on fogs as DLRs (app "Fog lights as DLR" and app "DRL with Auto" were required to be activated in order work)
- Scandinavian DRL taillights
- Turn off DRLs when EPB is on
For some reason the convenience feature for sunroof did not work. If its left open manually (sunroof) then "closing" convenience function closes it via key fob, but does not tilt or open it.
Next on my list would be enabling "Wireless CarPlay", but so far I see its not working on S trim of MK8 (North America)

I am from North America so NAR region.
I have the factory Matrix LED lights.
I managed to get the light animation screen working with selectable standard or Animation options.
I have managed to program the High Beam Assistance from the Autobahn Edition.
The Matrix LED works as it should dimming lights and curving with turns.
The downside I have found so far is the CH/LH function seems to stop working. I have yet to figure out the necessary coding for it.
All of this can be done via the 4B Multifunction module under Long Coding.
Basically all of the disabled bits need to be enabled…highway light, mdf activation, city light, etc.
Still have yet to figure out the Dynamic Turn Signals.

DRL with CH/LH during the DayThis is not work for my 2021 Golf. It took 50 credits. I let the car sleep over night, but nothing. ![]()
