Fyi there is a very detailed extensive thread at golfmk7 dot com by poster "golfdave" that discusses the change in vagcom coding.

Its important to be sure "fleece" has been chosen to reset the charging parameters to the highr voltages required by AGM.

2017 Golf Alltrack S 6mt APR1 87, lifted 1" w/ 27" dia AT tires, skidplates, 7pin towing with alternator trickle chg of towed teardrop house battery, upgraded plus sized AGM batt coded "fleece". DeAuto LED headlights, fogs, amber turns.
