Hi all, and especially my friend Don..
Is there possible to make DRL or low beam on when unlocking the car like BMW without auto switch?
Because yesterday my friend's car , VW Polo, did it using BMW module. But it didn't work with mine, VW GOLF MK7, because the techinican said it was totally different. Mine was computerized so they are worried to customize with another module.
Sorry for my bad english before..
Thankyou all

^^^ gerry: Hello again and thanks for the "friend" reference- I'm honored! The facility that you are referring-to is called "Leaving Home". Alas, I'm not aware of any other way of implementing the LH facility other than through the OEM facility - but someone else here might be able to suggest something. Yes LH needs an AUTO switch and it requires a light sensor.
Not sure it you have considered buying a Chinese AUTO switch from eBay that uses a separate light sensor that plugs into the back of the switch - they use their own own process for generating the LH function.

Is there a way to have the drl to come on instead of the full beam when unlocked ? Ari007: I wrote instructions for this tweak some time ago for VCDS - see below. They should be easily translated to OBD11 speak Don Instructions: DRL only for Coming Home/Leaving Home (without Low-beam lamps)[/font]control module [*]Select Security Access - 16 from the "Open Controller" screen [*]Enter the magic number 31347 and return to the "Open Controller" screen [*]Select Adaptation - 10 from the "Open Controller" screen [*]From the pull-down button check that the default values for the adaptation channels are as shown in the table below for FACTORY SETTING column (use the "Search" box to locate the correct channels) [*]Only if the check above is successful, change the values for the adaptation channels as depicted in the table below in the NEW SETTING column (use the "Search" box to locate the correct channels) [/ul]

^^^^^^ techno7363: Hi hmmm............ I suspect that on your car, the factory settings for the left/right DRLs (see LHS of the table) were NOT as shown in the table above (in the column titled " Factory Settings"). I believe this is so because in the screenshots for Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB21 there are 2 x entries for the Leuchte-command Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv.-- duplicate entries is generally not good in Leuchte programming!! This suggests (to me, at least) that your DRLs were already programmed to operate as CH/LH lamps at the factory. So, if I'm correct - have a look at the records in the HISTORY part of OBD11 (see below) and revert the settings for Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB21 back to their original settings. After you do this, the DRLs should still operate as CH/LH because of the factory settings on the Lichtfunktion G 3 and Lichtfunktion G 2 channels.

There is a way to do it without the AUTO Switch and sensor, but it wont be true Coming/Leaving HOME. Under each Leuchte set -> Lichtfunktion/light function and set it to "Innenlicht". Kinda works as coming home, but its more of a leaving home since lights are triggered by 2 things 1. Opening the door to leave the car 2. Unlocking the car triggers the lights you set to "innenlicht" and they will switch on.
WHEN ENGINE IS ON Lights you set with "Innenlicht" will turn on once you open driver door when engine is on and turn off the "innenlicht" when you close the door lights will go back to what your lights are set on the switch. NOTE if you drive with the trunk partially open for moving something that doesnt fit the trunk fully. "innenlicht" will be triggered and override the light setting you have set on the light switch. e.g if you have set your indicators to be on as "innenlicht", then the indicators wont flash when you want them to flash since the trunk is open.
WHEN ENGINE IS OFF Lights you set with "Innenlicht" will turn on gradually when you exit the vehicle and will stay on for 30 seconds max or if you lock the car before that time and they will gradually go off.
edit: Added text and clarification.

Thank you for your response Don and Vić. Don I did as you wrote, but it still does not work.
Today I saw a new problem, the lighting inside is ON while driving :-( I don't know what is wrong. Is it possible to hard restart? Can I show you history records?

^^^ techno: Regardless of what type of diagnostic cable you use, there is a very simple (and often unspoken) adage: When a tweak has been completed and the result is the intimate meeting of the brown-stuff with the fan blades- your best friend is the history file!!
Post it up - please and I'm sure that those here who profess to know how to read a history file will have a peak at what the records are saying.

Vic would i have to change every light funtion to that to achieve this because if so wouldn’t I lose my custom turn signals?
