The close part does NOT work that way on my 2021 SEL P RLine.
You have to hold the LOCK sensor on the door handle until all the windows (and the Pano Roof if equipped) close.
I believe this is a safety feature, so you have to be physically near the car and can see that no one has hands/arms/heads out the window....
