I have front and rear parking sensors + reversing camera on a 2016 8V. When reversing, a graphics is shown on MMI with camera and parking sensors sectors. When moving forward, I can enable my front parking sensors with the "P" button. And they do work, beeping and stuff.
The problem is - there is no graphics shown in the MMI, so I can't tell on which side the obstacle is. Sure, I could turn on reverse gear, wait for the graphics to come up and then switch back to drive and the graphics would stay on if I move slow enough. But that is very annoying.
Is there a way (coding etc.) to have the parking sensor graphics show up on demand when the P button is clicked?
Thanks!

Alas, I don't believe that it's possible - but I'm more than happy to be told otherwise by colleagues!
However, as an alternative solution, why not do as I have done and change the frequency of the beep tone for the front and rear sensors? This enables me to distinguish which of the sensors is beeping without needing to look at the display - at all!!
The tweak to make the change requires a PRO account - do you have this?
If so, try this:
- Go to Parking Assistance module @ address hex76
- Select Adaptation
- Enter "frequency" into the search box and select Speaker frequency for rear park assist.
- Change the value to the smallest Stage number
- Select Speaker frequency for front park assist.
- Change the value to the highest Stage number
- If asked for a security code - select the code suggested by OBD11
After the tweak changes are made, cycle the ignition- then the rear-sensors will then beep with a low-tone and the front-sensors will beep with a high-tone
Don
PS:The volume of the beep can also be changed separately for front/rear sensors using the same instructions (select Speaker volume for rear/front park assist channels)

Thanks dv52 (Australia) ! I do have the PRO. However, the problem is telling the left front sensors from the right front sensors, as I'm moving forward. I will also check with my stealership on this, as I'm pretty sure many VAG vehicles do just fine with this behavior Thanks again!
