I have recently purchased the OBDeleven Pro and would like to use it to code my replacement ABS. Can someone instruct me as a new user on the process? I have not been able to find any threads on it.
I bought the car with warning lights on the dash for skid control and tire pressure. I had fault codes for lateral acceleration sensors having a an implausible signal, so I changed these 2 sensors out on both sides of the rear door sills and had them keyed into the system by the Volkswagen dealer but the dash lights came back as soon as I started cornering or after 5 kilometers of pretty straight driving.
The fault code said that it might be a problem with my ABS module, so I changed that out for a second hand ABS unit that had been working on the same year car, a 2011 Mk 6 GTI. The unit had exactly the same numbers on it (1K0614517CH CTA H2) but the car it came off had the sports mode option on the suspension and some other options that my car does not have. When I fitted the unit to my car the OBDeleven said that the ABS needed coding, so I took it to someone who had a VCDS. The replacement unit had no coding on the ABS at all, so they tried to code it but they did not have the experience to do so without the previous coding from the old unit. They then suggested that I take it to a VW dealer, which I did and they spent 2 hours on it, expensive with 3 goes now, and said that they could not get the coding from Germany to stick. They could not give me the coding details as they just hook their system up to the factory stuff in Germany and don't actually receive any code themselves, that is all done on line apparently. I do not trust them to fix it without an endless expense, so want to do it myself with some help from those who have more understanding than the guys at VW.
Anyway, I am ready to re hook up the wiring to the old ABS unit and get the coding from that unit but do not know how to download that or how to proceed from there. Looking for help.
Cheers John
