In my Passat Break 2020 GTE, I now and then use my car as a mobile office, while at the same time charging. I've found that while the car is charging, the car does not heat nor cool. And this is not a hardware technical issue: - it can heat and cool while driving electric - even more, while charging, it can also heat and cool when setting climatisation through the car net/we care app I used to use the app, while this is stupid to need to use the app, because you can not use the knobs just in front of you! But the app free service has ended and now I need to pay. And I don't wanna pay 150 euros to be able to use a basic option as heating! This is really stupid, and it feels like my car is broken. Especially when you know old cars do heat, other EV brands do, AND it seems possible in the newer VW Golf models! Ridiculous to have such an expensive car, and be required to sit in the cold... Looks like they "forgot" to enable heating to work in stand one (stand two was disabled while charging, prevent driving away while connected, I suppose). I've asked the question to VW, hoping they will come up with a solution. But fear to get no resolution. So now I am desperately looking on how this can be altered to enable the heating. Maybe someone might have solved this already. Or has an idea where to look? I would be very grateful, don't wanna sit in my car in ski outfit.

Hi kheno,
I can not help you, science I have not any car like yours on the garage to save data and look what can be modified. But you must know, yur car have a VW Garantie, if you change something, date of last modification, is stored in your Car computer. So be aware, and on your own risk.
If you want to do that, anyway. Save your contrl units and attach the file here. After I tacke a look , probable can help you.

Hallo ,
I can not see the Auxilar Heater ( Webasto ) Normally is Control unit 18.
Do your car have it? I will keep looking and make some search, becouse the GTE system.
On your E-Manager App, try this.
pre heating with granny charger or battery is asthmatic at best than with type 2 cable and wall charger. I guess more amps available powering the heater.
try to use a departure time 30-60 mins in advance of needing the car works better than doing a 'start AC' via carnet app. The pre heat appears to last longer, at least 30mins, versus the 'start ac' button which is circa 15mins of heating. If you head out too soon or too late, the heat has not built up enough or has cooled too much, more so with the 'start AC' button
set to 29deg regardless. putting anything less than 26deg was a waste of time as the temp was too low to warm up the full cabin in cool/cold weather from scratch.
So, if you know you are heading out in 30mins time, set the departure time first, then leisurely go to the loo, brush your hair, lock the back door, put shoes and coat on, shut the door, open the garage......and you should be fully warmed up!

Hey! I do not have the module: Auxilar Heater ( Webasto ) Normally is Control unit 18. I do find, Under Air conditioning (08) > long coding: - auxiliary heater : not installed - parking heater : not installed - Activation of start-stop function : not active <<<< tried changing this to active, but no luck Pre heating does actually work > but this is quite cumbersome to setup a schedule and wait a few minutes for it to start to get the car to heat. then after 15 min when it is hot, turns off and you need to start over again. Heating can be enabled through the CarNet App while charging! Only this requires me to have 150 euro subscription a year. For just turning on the heater, while the console is just in front of me?! It's not really the issue of pre heating it in the morning. But rather when a dock at a chargestation and start on my laptop and using my car as mobile office. Typing doesn't go that fluently anymore with freezing fingers Or driving my son to the sport training, where there is no place to wait inside. Then I can not charge and heat at the same time, without the app or the stupid scheduler work around. I heard some car's have a an extra symbol on the heating/ac panel where you could enable the heater when charging. Have not seen this myself. So I hoped this could be enabled in some way. Thanks for looking into it!
