Hi! I would like some help with the application in the app, it says “not supported” even though I clearly have a soundaktor. What steps can I take to turn it off? and does the valve stay open to allow for pops and bangs when deactivating the soundaktor?

Tried adding it through gateway coding but it gets rejected, is there anything else I can do? I got the car from my dealer 21st of sept if that is of any help. I also haven’t looked inside the hood for the component, where is it usually located and how does it look?

Actually, in my car disabling Soundaktor via coding seems to also affect the valve and, as a consequence, pops and bangs.
Next thing to try is to pull the plug on it or then just reduce the percentage but not turn it off completely.
...and as said on the thread already, are you 100% sure you got it?
Is the car a 310 or something else?

Yes I have the 310hp one. If it modifies the valve in the exhaust then I would like to look at other options of reducing the cockpit sound.

@testeronline "Unless there is a bug I can only assume that you dont have the control unit or there is a BUG with the app in which case you need to speak with support on Monday. As you can see from the user manual you can turn off the Soundaktor using the individual mode if you have it. have a read of Please note not all cars have the Soundaktor but you can disable it manually check out details in this thread www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/obdeleven-formentor-see-below-for-working-ones.465537/page-5 that should tell you how to find the devise but from a software perspective if you dont have A9 you cant turn it off." frao: "I will contact support on monday. I have the 310hp version so it should have the annoying fake sound. Im hoping that if there is a solution that the valve wont be affected."

I still need to try again and confirm this - apparently there were some other software issues that could influence my results.
Car is going to dealer on Wednesday and is going to get some updates to loads of modules in the system.
I read somewhere there was a fault with Cupra mode not engaging correctly sometimes, which could affect the valve and get the results I saw.
I will try to disable it again after I test the car properly following the updates

So, my report - it is definitely connected. I had some recall campaign flashed yesterday, which among other things, touched the Soundaktor module. Afterwards (if possible...) the Soundaktor seems even louder BUT I also have significantly more pops and bangs. I don't want to mess with our touch it again. Next thing to try might be to physically pull the plug to disable the speaker, which would leave the software side of things untouched, although I am not sure if the speaker includes the module and doing that would trigger an error. I am kinda coming to terms with being a source of jokes for my friends when I drive them around in my "PlayStation" or my "Need for Speed V8"

Damm, so is the valve connected with the fake sound? Why would they do that …. Did you do anything else to the car to get more pops and bangs or? Im on software update 1804, which one are you on? And lastly let me know if you experiment with cutting of power to the speaker 😅

Strange thing is that my pops and bangs seem to fluctuate quite a bit. Need to have them check if the valves are operating correctly next time it is in for service.

maypack did you notice this when you change your settings.
One other thought in the MK7, Might be worth checking the 7.5 coding
It was possible to code the exhaust flap open permanently back then it was Control Unit 01, Long Coding Byte 9 Bit 2 untick.
There is also live data in Control Unit 01 Exhaust flap, activation and Exhaust flap bank 2, activation I would set the car to Individual mode with sound turned off and check these and then change mode to Cupra and check again. If you can see it is different then you can disable the sound using obd11 and double check the setting to see if as we suspect it turns it off. Then its a case of finding the Long Coding key to stop this process (maybe the one from the Golf).
This is a PIA to investigate, but if I am a bit bored, I might do some checking

He has been an invaluable member of this forum, but I can only imagine he had some sort of disagreement and decided to leave... ...or was invited to.
Unfortunately, with him goes a lot of knowledge and many coding lists he had compiled for different cars.

Unfortunately testeronline decided to leave the forum for now. Hopefully he'll come back in the future because he is/was a very valuable member.

This is what support replied to me with. Hopefully we will be able to code before new year...
"Hello,
thank you for your message. The OBDeleven programming temporarily is not supported on models that are manufactured from 2020 and have SFD protection.
The negotiation regarding the support of these models is in progress.
We already received the needed documentation from Volkswagen AG and we are testing it now.
Full SFD implementation will be possible after Volkswagen AG will finish the installation of the application programming interface (API).
Volkswagen AG confirmed it should be done in the 4th Quarter of 2021.
We are completely dependent on Volkswagen AG and will be ready when they are ready."

Alright so I have been trying to do a full backup on the testing phase that I got invited to but it keeps crashing on 24/34 control units at 98% everytime. Im not going to be testing anything unless I can do a full backup first. Hope this gets sorted asap.
