Hey everyone
I'm in the process of installing a Vc in my my15 S3 and I had a thought, I have the ability to map different options in the car to the * button on the steering wheel which is able to be chosen in the MMI menu. as I'm already spending a heap of money on something which may not work because of support options in Aus / Carins for coding I was hoping to be able to code the S3 to have in the MMi menu for this button the option for "view" to control the Vc
I haven't seen this but I'm sure its possible as I know we have some great minds floating around in these forums and the wonderful, helpful people. this would enable me to not have to buy the new steering wheel and from reading you cant just upgrade the buttons but have to change the whole steering wheel. All input/s is greatly appreciated.
the Vc is on its way, have ordered the fitting kit with the wiring harness from aliexpress and I have a local Audi dealer which has said " we will try to remove CP if possible for $190 "
cheers
Adz

As far as i know your oem wheel wont work. The VC retrofit requires the FL steering wheel to be installed because that has the correct wiring and buttons. The buttons wont fit a PFL wheel. Ive been doing research on this for about 2 years now but finally decided to just wait for the new rs3 to come out instead. Im not saying what you're trying to do is 100% impossible but i personally have never seen it done in the 100 cars ive researched.

Hey
thanks for the reply mate, My understanding and from what I have read is the same as your opinion.. because this button is mappable I thought why not.
I will if I get anywhere with the start of the install get anywhere I will update the thread. I'm not cutting the dash or doing a full install until I know that the systems will work with my S3 so is reversible if needed. If the systems work the way intended I will then install the VC correctly
