I have a set of BEC 7.5 reps, with harness and coded. Love the dual rear fogs on them.
I am however wondering if it's possible to code them to allow them to stay illuminated when high beams are activated. Just how you can have front fogs stay on with high beams.
Currently, rear fogs turn off if high beams are activated.

peylix : Of course you can have the rear fogs operate like the front fogs (by using the same tweak but applied to the rear tails). The only problem is to find the correct Leuchte-set. The retrofit exercise may have altered the factory allocation of Leichte-sets - I suggest that you post-up pictures of Leuchte26NSL or Leutchte27NSL so we can see how the car is programmed

Sure, here's some shots of current coding. This is good to hear that this may be doable. But I also want to expand that I just want them being able to be kept on. Not be turned on every time highs go on. For some reason, that's how my front fogs work. I used the coding to have them enabled with highs. But instead of being optional. Illuminate with high beams whether I want them on or not. Which I don't like, but have just grown to live with it because I have yet to find an alternative coding method. So I hope this won't be the case for the rear fogs. As there will be times where I want front high beams, but no rear fogs.

hmmm....... as I said, trying to find the Leuchte-set that operates the rear fog is problematic when retrofit tails are installed. The harness changes the factory allocation of the Leuchte-set to lamps - nether of those Leuchte-sets control the rear fog light! Look through the high-number Leuchte-sets (i.e. Leuchte16 to Leuchte25) at Lichtfunktion A. I need for you to find the Leuchte-set that has the rear fog command - which has the term Nebelschlusslicht in the name. Post-it up like you did for your previous post. Now- some clarification needed from your last post: First, you refer to the rear-fog lights as "them" - I assume that your non-OEM tail-light fittings have a fog-ight on each side of the car. Please confirm Second, on your first post you say- is it "possible to code them [the fog-light] to allow them to stay illuminated when high beams are activated". But in your second post you say "I just want them being able to be kept on. Not be turned on every time highs go on". Please explain

If it helps, the tails are BEC Ed's reps. Used their coding instructions. Here's a snap of the PDF I used. Found it under Leuchte28. The full coding instruction PDF is here.
Correct. These BEC Ed's 7.5 tails have a rear fog on both the driver & passenger side.
So you mentioned that this may be the same trick used for front fogs to be used with high beams. That trick (coding) doesn't just allow fogs with high beams. But it makes it so if my fogs are in the off position. The fogs will illuminate with my high beams. Even with my light switch not pulled out to turn them on normally. So if I flash to pass, with no fogs on via light switch. Or turn my high beams on (with fogs turned off). The fog lights will illuminate with my high beams. The reason why I brought this up, is because if it's the same trick to keep the rear fogs from turning off once high beams are turned on. I fear that the rear fogs will have the same behavior as my front fogs. As in, my light switch will just be headlights only. Not pulled out once for front fogs, not pulled out twice for rear fogs. If I turned my high beams on. Both my front & rear fogs will turn on with the high beams. If that makes sense. Here is a quick video visually explaining what I'm talking about. Maybe this will show it a bit better. Thanks for helping btw.

peylix :Arrh...... an American with an accent - we Aussies don't have accents!!
OK - it appears that the wiring harness for your new tails has re-allocated the original Leuche-set for the factory left side reversing light to the 2 x fog-lights! As I said, the reallocation rules is particular to the manufacturer and the type of fittings
Try this
Leuchte28RFL LC11 - Lichtfunktion C 28 > Fernlicht links
- Lichtfunktion D 28 > Lichthupe generell
- Dimmwert CD 28 > 63
- Dimming Direction CD 28 > maximum
With the changes above, the normal rear-fog light function remains unaltered - plus the rear fogs will turn-on whenever you operate the high-beam stalk in either direction (i.e. either pull, or push) - like the front-fogs
That's the best that I can do because Leuchte-programming isn't sophisticated (it doesn't allow conditional logic) - but the tweak should keep the rear fogs switched-ON if the high beams are also switched-on

Lol
I'll give this a shot. But it sounds like it's going to do what I don't want. Which is activating them every time my brights are turned on, just like the behavior of my front fogs.
I'll report back in a bit. Hopefully it just allows them to stay on.

Ok, tried that coding and it does what I DO NOT want. Which is turning the rear fogs on with my high beams no matter what. I don't want that. I just want them to not be disabled when I turn my high beams on if I have the rear fogs on manually.
That coding, turns on my rear fogs with my light switch having them off. This was my fear.
Is there any other coding we can try?

Beginning to think that this is the only way to be honest. Which sucks.

I get that. I at least do have an option for what I seek at the very least. Which is better than no option. And I've been hunting on this quest for some time and you're the only one who's helped. Which I'm thankful for. I'll do some more digging myself and some experimenting. My MKV could be coded to be conditional, so I'm hoping there is a work around somewhere to get rid of this side effect that I do not want.
Thank you for taking the time to respond and give me the coding needed to get started. If I ever figure it out. I'll be sure to update this thread for others to see the resolution.
Cheers
