Anyone having trouble with obdeleven lately? Keeps telling me to make sure the ignition is on when trying to read settings before making changes in some apps (USA parking brake logic for example). Ignition IS on. Even tried it with engine on and doesn't work. Used to before. Any ideas?

^^^That sounds weird to me. I only see a similar issue in VCDS if I'm attempting to code a module that is no longer connected to the vehicle (but is declared in the CAN gateway (#19). I'd suggest you attempt to code it manually and not use the APPS (as the latest version of OBDeleven may be trying to code a different revision of that module).

I'm having the same problem, which sucks because I just bought 100 credits and can't use them.
The software also says that my code that came on the bag is invalid.
I was able to turn on Hill Assist before the ignition on problem but it doesn't do anything (2010 6mt GTI) so I lost 10 credits there.
So far this has been pretty disappointing.

^^^Did you just say 6-speed manual transmission, yet you are able to turn on Hill Assist?

Yes. I was able to spend 10 credits there and the other app regarding the Hill Assist as well. I bought this latter because I don't really understand any of this and hoped it would somehow activate the feature. So 20 credits on HA. I was able to get several other features to work, however, now I have a light on on the dash for the brake system and I can't remove it. Also the mfi says that there is an esc problem. I hope that doesn't mean that esc is actually off.

Hill assist is supposed to be for Automatic / DSG only. You should have gotten an error message saying that this feature is not supported (one your specific car configuration with a manual gearbox). Hill Assist does indeed use your vehicle's brakes to keep the vehicle stationary, but it uses both inputs of the brake pedal switch and throttle position sensor to modulate when to turn the system on and off while engaging/ disengaging the transmission's clutch (hence the need for an automatic /DSG. This is my understanding of how the system works, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anything that causes the ESC light to come on, leaves the ESC off (until the issue is resolved). You can test it yourself by launching the car. You will notice that the car launches with lots of wheelspin as though you manually turned it off.
Admin can tell you what to do to to reverse the issue of the coding. The coding could have been for another module that is different from the one that is in your car.

Okay, thank you. I had read in a few places that the 2011 6mt and after had HA. Not sure why someone would say that if it weren't true, but this is the Internet after all.
About the esc... I have only had this car for a couple of months but I've been wondering about why my tires spin through first and second gears with no percievable intervention. The light has never gone on, and I have no doubt it's on because of one of the changes I've made, but I've never felt the esc kick on. My car is apr tuned and acts strange in other ways. I got a temporary Cylinder one misfire code, but it's disappeared. I was hoping that it would stay on so that I could swap coil packs around to rule it out, but no luck.
Anyway, thank you for your help. The feature should definitely be turned off for cars like mine. In any case I'm really happy with the apps that have worked. The needle sweep and window remote code are fairly silly, but fun. I had been looking for someone in my area with vcds to do these things anyway so this is pretty neat.

I had read in a few places that the 2011 6mt and after had HA. This would be very plausible if Hill Assist only uses the vehicle's brakes (hence what you are saying would be correct). I had some misfiring codes myself (MK5 Golf GTI), but it was due to a leaking dipstick (so the crankcase gases were venting to atmosphere). I replaced the dipstick with a new one, and the issue went away. I still changed coil packs and spark plugs (and valve cover gasket) for good measure. Your car should always spin tyres in first and second gear, but the ESC light should flash to show you that the system is working to keep you "safe". With ESC turned off, my car spins my Maxxis Pro R1 up to 4th gear (DSG in manual or sport mode). When your ESC is working, your rear brakes will smoke (or heat up a little) as though you drove with the handbrake on. If you had VCDS, you can see it's operation by logging the brake pressure for each wheel as you launch the car in a straight line. If the system is working, you will see the independent pressures (since you aren't pressing the brake pedal to activate them all at once)

Awesome information! I'm not used to esc as my last performance vehicle was an SVT Lightning. Absolutely different animal altogether.
I'm very much wondering if I have a boost leak somewhere. Is there an easy way to find out? The roots blower in the truck was simple compared to a turbo setup!

My MK5 Golf on Eurodyn'e Stage 2 tune does 19 psi of boost. Stock, the car was doing about 8 psi on the same K03.
I forgot the measuring block group that you would use to measure in the engine control module. Since you have the MK6, you wouldn't have the leaky diverter valve issues that plagued modified MK5 Golfs
