Hi, I'm retrofitting a tiguan trailer module into our 2018 Mk7.5 Sportwagen. I'm following the VCDS programming instructions on www.thebeardeddetailer.com/blog/2019/12/3/mk7-towing-module-j345-retrofitI'm using ODBEleven to program. I'm having problems finding "Byte 1, Bit 4-7: 10 Partial Network Operation active" in this step Select: 69 - Trailer Select: Coding - 07 Byte 0, Bit 0-7: 02 Market/Country: North American Region (NAR) Byte 1, Bit 4-7: 10 Partial Network Operation active Byte 3, Bit 0-7: 00 Terminal 30 Output (Pin 9) NOT active) Byte 4, Bit 0-7: 02 Terminal 30 Output switched (Pin 10) active while Trailer connected Also, I'm having problems finding "Networking-Anhaengeranschlussgeraet" in: Select: 09 - Cent. Elect. Select: Security Access - 16 Enter: 31347 Select: Adaptation - 10 Search for Networking-Anhaengeranschlussgeraet Change the value to Installed Although after writing the post, Google translate says "Anhaenge ranschluss geraet" is "Trailer connection device" so maybe I will look for that.

For the 09 - Cent. Elect module, I suspect that the instruction was intended for the more modern modules that DON'T have a long-code string. If you have tried entering Networking into the search box and you can't find the channel, I suspect that your car has the older type module.
If your 09 module DOES have a long-code string - the equivalent software switch for Networking-Anhaengeranschlussgeraet is Byte 1, Bit 1
For the 69 - Trailer module, I'm not sure what the problem is - maybe the instruction is confusing to you (maybe you are not familiar with hexadecimal/binary notation- no offense intended)?
So - what this particular instruction means is that after the change, the value of Byte 1 should be 10 - or more correctly hex10 - or in Binary speak, 00010000 - or said differently, Bit 4=1 (remembering that binary numbers are read from right-to-left, so Bit 0 is the right-most digit)
If I have misunderstood your confusion - my apology. I've seen lots of hex69 modules working correctly without this software switch set

You hit my confusion right on the head. I managed to figure it out using google translate "Byte 1, Bit 4-7: 10 Partial Network Operation active" was Teilnetzbetrieb. I was also able to understand how to use the hex/bin settings in ODBEleven.

There is no long-coding menu in ODBEleven. I have a 2018 Golf SportWagen. VIN Plate says it was built in 08/17 I have BCM P/N 5q0937087AN Software 5q0937087AR Software Version 0243 * New Version 0246 Exists What should my next step be? Do I need to get the dealer to upgrade the SW on the BCM? Buy a new BCM, if so which P/N? Purchase/borrow VCDS ( i had the 3 VIN bought lost it)?

ODBEleven seems to be using ODX file 018001 seems that odx file EV_BCMMMQB_018002 or EV_BCMMMQB_018003 is available.
Edit: Changed ODX to EV_BCMMMQB_018003 and did a search for "net" in adaptations and found Vernetzung (Google said it's networking). I then found Anhaengeranschlussgeraet.
So I was able to set that.
