I just completed swapping front and back seats from a MK6 GTI into my MK6 Jetta Sportwagen. I knew going into this project that I'd get an airbag code related to the passenger seat occupany sensor. I printed out a pair of DIY tutorials on how to configure the SRS to recognize the new occupancy sensor's serial code. Unfortunately, these tutorials are for use with VAG-COM. I was hopeful it would at least give me a start with my OBDEleven module though.
Also, the seats sat in my garage for quite a few weeks. At some point, the plug at the 3-pin yellow plug for the occupancy sensor cracked and broke off. The pins were undamaged, and the plug still clicks and locks into place. I don't think this is my issue, as the occupancy module is still recognized but just needs to be reset. I could be 100% wrong there. I will replace this plug, but I'm going to have to make a special trip to the junk yard for it.
As expected, I now get fault "B102255 - Passenger occupant detection system control module. Not configured." For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to configure this module. The steps I take are as follows:
1. Try to clear the B102255 fault. It only clears for about 1 second before the Faulty Airbag warning pops up on my cluster and the SRS light turns on.
2. Go into "Security Access" and login, allowing myself to modify the module. Login code 20324 pops up and is accepted when entered.
3. Go into "Basic Settings" and attempt to have the SRS recognize the new occupancy sensor. Unfortunately, status is NOT ACTIVE and the "Slide to Start" gives me an error something to the effect as incorrect procedure.
4. In the same "Basic Settings", attempt to reset the occupancy sensor. Much like above, status is NOT ACTIVE, and slide to start gives me the same error.
5. Lastly, I went into long coding. This could also be my issue, as there is long coding there that looks like I incorrectly typed in the security code. Not sure how to reset this coding.
Any ideas on how to truly clear this fault? I read that possibly the fault has to be cleared before you can reset the module. Could it also be that resetting this module is not supported for the MK6 with OBDEleven?
