My 2017 NAR jetta drives great no change since out of showroom maintained at the dealership. No engine check lights since I bought it. Why is it only when using the OBD11 on live data mode you see random misfires on low RPMs when switching between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears in stop and go traffic but on the freeway u see nothing when the car is actually just running freely?

Mine kinda does the same thing but I more or less only see the misfires when at idle. How many miles on yours? I’m starting to suspect the intake runners being partially clogged with carbon build up.

I had similar issues, initially thought bad coils, no change after replacement. Ultimately turned out to be a quick fix in my case. I replaced the Cam Actuator valve / VW Camshaft Adjuster Magnet VW 06L109259D. It is easy to remove to check function. The center dimple should extend and retract without any resistance when shaken gently up/down. Mine was slightly stuck. Symptoms were multiple random misfires per OCD. behaviour was rough idle after car warm and when stopping after either highway driving or low-speed driving. Cheap part, quick install, no special tools needed. Typically occurs due to impurities in oils Hope this helps 2017 VW Jetta GLI
