Good evening everyone,
I'm a relatively newbie to OBDeleven and recently purchased a 2021 VW Atlas. Overall I love the vehicle, but there are a few things I am not fond of that I am hoping that OBDeleven can help me fix. Probably the biggest annoyance is that the Atlas doesn't have any sort of Auto Locking feature. I have owned several other cars that when the Key Fob is outside of the car, the doors can/will automatically lock after 20 seconds or so. I purchased the OBDEleven because I was trying to figure out a way to make this happen. I found a forum that talked about the mods that need to be made to sort of emulate the doors auto locking, and I've completed those coding changes.
Automatically lock when key is outside the car and doors are closed
05 - Acc/Start Auth.
Coding - 07
Long Coding Helper
Go to Byte 2 (remember the first byte is 0)
Enable Bit 4 "Locking for door slamming active"
And although it does indeed do what I asked it to (lock the doors on exit), I'm finding myself wondering if there is a way to make it a little bit more user friendly. At the moment, the doors lock instantly, so if someone else is in the car, and their door isn't open, the doors lock, then they have to unlock to exit, getting fuel (that one took me a little bit to figure out), have to unlock from key fob to get the fuel door open... I'm curious if there is a way to designate a delay in the locking action, or set a distance the Key Fob has to be away from the car before it locks.
Thanks, Steve
