2017 Tiguan SEL FWD
Hi all,
I (hopefully temporarily) broke my Tiggy's exterior lights after installing LED tail lights.. Everything worked well and like previously, but I thought I could try enabling exterior lighting for a Tiguan from say, Europe or China, with the amber rear turn signals instead of the North American turn/brake light in one. Using OBDEleven, long coding in the Central Electronics section, under "Lighting" I tried other countries' Tiguan presets.... this was a mistake. Choosing even different models' lighting options like Passat, Jetta, GTI, etc will activate certain exterior lights but none of the options on the list will revert back to it's original default setting. I know I haven't blown any fuses or bulbs because using the different vehicles' lighting settings will activate all of the lights at different times just not at the same time. I promise to NEVER touch the long coding again if I can somehow fix this, the dealership being a last resort. Please help! Thank you.

I suppose you didn’t make yourself a complete backup before you started tinkering, eh? 😉
Shouldn’t be too difficult to fix. Just need to find someone that has the same year and trim as yours and have them send you a copy of their backup.
I think my 2020 Highline (Canada) is too different than yours to be of use, or I’d be happy to send you mine.
Good luck… DoC

All the changes you have made are recorded in your history, just find the first change you made and you can use the original coding if you dont have a backup

doc0427 I unfortunately don’t think I made a backup. Stupid me for thinking it’d be easy.

@testeronline I think I’ve tried this. If it’s within the Central Electronics history. Even going so far back to my original initial scan and the first adaptation I performed. I could be overlooking something?

Assuming you have android phone
go to my car menu
select history
using upside down triangle, select clear all
then long coding
enable show archived
under Time if you made changes in last day select 1 day, if last week then slect 7 days
hit ok
hopefully that will be easier to read

@testeronline thanks. I have iOS however. I’ve written down the bits of all 29 bites of long coding from earlier scans and input that manually with no success

userkdub : Maybe include your history file in another post - so other members can see (and comment on) what changes you made. You will need to "digitize" the history file first -then email yourself a copy - then attach the file to another post, like this: In the second screenshot - select the data as per @testonline suggestion above (don't select "full scan" as shown)

I am afraid one of the many differences between IOS and Android is you are not able to extract over a limited time frame. To save time and make it easier I would suggest you do a full extract of all changes and post here then we can see all the changes made and try and help.
