My 2011 1.6 TDI Passat only charges when engine braking. I can see the voltage jumping up to 14.9V while it usually sits at 13.2V. Using electric devices like seat heaters also increases the voltage. I think this is a normal feature and called recuperation. But how can I disable it?
I only found instructions for VCDS. Some guys successfully removed "Extended recuperation active" and "Recuperation installed". They had Passat B7 too and said that they disabled it somewhere in module 61 and Bit 3. But I can't find anything there. I searched through both central electronics and CAN-gateway and long coding and adaptation but no luck. Nothing in there was named. Just numbered. Bit and module numbers didn't even match to the instructions I found.
The reason I want to disable it is that I have 3 x Hella Comet FF200 extra lights. I measured that they only got 13.0V which is under the official specification of the H3 bulb. I switched on seat heaters and bulb voltage jumped to 14.0V and lights got significantly brighter. They are connected directly to the battery and work simultaneously with the stock high beams.
