Hello fellow OBDeleven users,

I am new to this forum and I have pretty recently gotten AIRBAG light coming on whenever starting my car. This persists and contains code U110100: Component protection: active

I have tried resetting the code, which the tool does perfectly but the light comes back on immediately which leads me to believe there is some hardware issue here.

Has anyone else had this and if yes, what resolved the issue?

I also noticed another code P069100: Cooling fan, short circuit
Not sure if they could be related...?

I would greatly appreciate any ideas and possible DIY solutions.

Usually component protection means someone has fitted a replacement part from another vehicle or perhaps new but hasn't coded the part to your vehicle. Only special tools can remove component protection not obdeleven. I think Odis used by Audi specialists or Audi.

Not sure an airbag has component protection but perhaps if it was a replacement part it could have. Pretty important to get that looked at and coded properly I'd say.
