Hi all, Tomorrow, my new MIB2 unit arrives for my 2013 GTD. I've got a guy lined up to do my Component Protection removal, later in the week but before it goes to him, I want to make sure I've got all the FECs out of my current Composition System head unit so that if he doesn't code them for me (because I've told him all I need is the CP removal, I'm doing the rest of my additions to it later) I can put them back. I keep seeing reference to a hidden engineering menu on the unit but when I hold my Menu button down for 10 seconds (or more) all I get is the first one - even then, I don't get an option for FECs like this guy did on YouTube: I know that, through VCDS, you can enable something that gives you that menu on the next 10 boots or something - is it possible to either extract the FECs using OBD11 or can you enable the same mode on the unit so as to get to them, via editing the long-coding or something? (Please forgive my ignorance, for an IT Pro this is my first foray into the belly of my car and I'm still learning what's what). Furthermore, obviously I'm upgrading to MIB2 for CarPlay. When it comes to adding the FEC for that, can you do that via OBD11 or do I need a VAS5054a cable for that, too? Originally, I had a guy who was going to do it remotely and I'm sure he said that OBD11 was fine for that (it's the Component Protection it's no good for) but again, being new to this, I want to make sure the understanding I've gleaned from all the forum posts I've read over the last few weeks is correct before I go racing in there tomorrow night with my media removal tools! 😅 Thanks! Lewis

The FEC's from a mib1 system do not work on your new mib2 system.

CarPlay and cp removal is Odis (or sd card if you wanna “hack” it)
Using obdeleven to activate the FEC is using a hack not OG dealer
