Am I right in thinking that I can use apps from other models if I have that function on my car. I have a 2014 sport and I see some apps on the touran r line for features I have on my car so I should be able to use them, right?

Simple answer, can you see the apps when you look in apps on your car.
Secondly is there any specific narrative saying you need x y or z for it to work that you dont have (so it wont work).
Otherwise it should work.
If it dont ask OBD11 Support for a refund it it takes your credits but dont work.

My model is the Touran Sport which does not appear anywhere, the closest I can see is the R line for the next generation
