Hi All
Getting a fluctuation in the oil temp readings in OBD. I have a 2015 Golf R, CJXC with 209222km on the clock.
The engine temp and calculated engine temp are sitting at around 105 degrees C + / - 3 degrees. This is ok, imho. The issue is the reading from sensor 2 in OBD. This will go up and down from 99 deg C to 110 deg C. I'm thinking it is the sensor going bad.
I can find the sensor to replace it (06K919525) but cannot find where it is placed in the engine. When I search for the sensor, some say it is a coolant sensor and some say it is an engine oil temperature sensor.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Ta

hmm..... according to my database for CJXC engine (2.0 l, 4 V, turbocharger, chain drive, generation III), there are 2 x "coolant temperature senders" as shown in the picture below: The picture at the bottom is for part number 06K919525 - looks identical to me!!
I'm not sure which is "sender 2", but disconnect one of the connectors and try reading (one of the measurements should be either zero, or not available)
