Hi all,
I have a 2018 Tiguan SEL with aftermarket headlights that look like the ones in the SEL Premium. I bought these headlights (I think that the model has been updated since 2018, but here it is: www.becautoparts.com/products/2018-vw-tiguan-hid-led-headlights) over 2 of years ago, and was told then they were basically plug-and-play and that minor coding would possibly be needed to make the DRLs not blink when the turn signal was on then off. I got them installed by a professional, and after getting home, I noticed that when in Auto and during the day, the DRLs dimmed and flickered (not blinking, just fast flickering) when the turn signal was on, and went back to normal when the signal was off. I took it to a specialized VW repair shop and the person did the coding the seller had told me (coding described below), but that didn't solve the problem. The seller said that he hadn't had that problem happen before and sent me a new replacement harness hoping that would work. That also didn't work. I want to keep these headlights because I think they are so much better and safer than the halogens ones, but don't know how to get them to work properly.
After finding out about OBDeleven, I decided to try to work with the coding and see if I could get it fixed. I found another forum with some coding info that would make the DRLs dim (https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/20792/ see DV52 post with the coding information below), but that didn't fix the flickering. I also changed a couple settings (dimmwert CD 2 and 3 from 127 to 26 and later from 26 to 0) hoping I could at least turn the DRLs off when the turn signal was on, but that also didn't work.
This is the coding I was told by the seller that would make the DRLs dim:
Go to Leuchte2SL VLB10:
--> Lichtfunktion C 2 (Change to Nicht Activ) -->Dimmwert CD 2 (Change to 127)
Go to Leuchte3Sl VRB21:
--> Lichtfunktion C 3 (Change to Nicht Activ) -->Dimwert CD 3 (Change to 127)
I also tried to reverse that so that the DRLs would just turn off and not dim by changing the values back to their original number (26).
This is the coding I found in a forum that would make the headlights dim (it's for the Jetta/2018, but thought of giving it a try; as a note, I didn't change the values for the "single side parking lights" because I really don't know what it would do and I was afraid of messing it up):

Ive added Single Side Parking Lights (SSPL) to the code above (because I can! )- but if you don't want this function just change Lichtfunktion F in both Leuchte-sets to not active." (from user DV52, posted in Nov/2019 at forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/20792/).
At this point I would love to at least be able to turn the DRLs off when the turn signal is on, so that they don't dim and flicker. Again, this happens only when the headlight setting is on Auto, but works perfectly (do not flicker) at night or when I switch the knob to a manual setting (low beams on or parking lights on).
I was wondering if there is a coding that would help remove the flickering by changing the settings, and I am hoping someone here might be able to help me with that. Just a heads up, I don't have much experience with coding. If there is anything else I can provide here, like videos, please let me know.
Thank you very much!

(sorry for the long post, I've been burying this inside for over 2 years now and am determined to find a fix for it).
