Hi all,
I have a VW Mk7.5 golf that I retrofitted the VW MK7.5 Golf/GTI MK7.5 Style Red Stripe Helix Headlights to. Over the past year or so, the LED DRL on the right headlamp will flicker for about 5 seconds on startup. The left one never does this. Is this something that can fixed in coding, like a cold diagnosis setting? The two headlamp settings match otherwise as far as I can tell.
Thank you!

nealcamera : Regardless of the advertising material on every manufacturer of third-party headlights that claim to be 100% OEM - the fittings never are!!! So, it's anyone's guess what causes these problems! My hunch (it's a guess) is that right-side lamp flickers because there is a higher voltage-drop (temporary) on the right-side lamp because of a longer wire route to the fitting.
On start-up, the general voltage rail on the entire car drops momentarily anyhow because of the sudden load that appears on the battery.
This volt drop in the general battery volts at start-up combined with the increased electrical resistance from the battery to the right-side fitting (because of the longer wire route) causes a momentary lower supply voltage to the power-supply circuit in the right-side fitting - which causes the lamp-flicker until the general battery volts recover. After the car's rail voltage stabilizes, the volts @ the power circuit in the lamp is sufficient to permanently fire-up the right-side LEDs Again, a guess Don

Thanks for the reply! That would make sense. I changed the lastyp setting to "general LED" and it flickers for significantly less time. I'll keep tinkering with it and let you know.
