Hi guys I have a golf mk7 se i have changed the headlights to golf r xneon lights. The lights just blink when i start the car. Can someone please help. hmm............. I don't think that anyone can answer this question other than in generalities because there are a huge variety of after market fittings each with their own peculiarities - I'm happy to be corrected! From purely an OEM basis, the two most important items when retrofitting Xenon assemblies (besides the leveling equipment and headlight washers which are legally required in many countries), is a High level BCM (to manage the operation of the shutters) and a high level CAN Gateway (to operate the range control modules). Many (all?) mk7s with factory fitted incandescent lamps have neither of these high-level modues. Some retrofitted Xenon fittings (mainly from China), trick the BCM and CAN gateway into believing that halogen lamps are still installed. This is generally done via cross cabling connections but invariably some loss of flexibility results with these fittings, and again there are lots of variations, so difficut to be specific Don

So is there any adapters or anything i can get for them lights to work Are they OEM or aftermarket units? Did you have xenon's before and have changed to Golf R lamps?

My vehicle came with BCM 5Q0-937-087-AA which can operate xenons and has pins 22 & 23 for the shutters. I used the Kufatec adapter for LED DRL. I have coded (via adaptation channels only) everything to NAR spec for GTI/Golf xenons. Everything works as intended and I don't get any errors in my scan. The only issue that I'm having is getting the LED side marker lights to illuminate (the 3 amber lights below the amber reflector). I understand from my research that these LEDs are wired internally to the LED centre dot (which uses Leuchte8FL and 9FL in NAR spec.); these centre dots illuminate and operate as intended, therefore I'm stumped as to why the markers do not illuminate. It's both left and right so I highly doubt it's a broken connection in the assembly itself (which are brand new). Is there additional long coding required to be done for the retrofit (i.e. in addition to updating all adaptation channels)? I know adaptation will not "add" lights. Perhaps there is a PIN missing at the headlight connection? I'm assuming if they are wired to the LED dot then I could tap into that feed and add a pin to the Kufatec adapter. Do you know which pin on the NAR headlight backside operates the LED dot? the LED markers? Thanks for your help. I have read many of your posts and used your Excel adaptation spreadsheet for the coding.

Difficult to say, given that way-down here in the very deep South (Australia), we don't see many NAR headlight assemblies . Why not disconnect each wire in turn and see which lamp turns off? Don

Don Thanks, and I can appreciate that. I'll try fiddling with the wires. Generally though, am I correct in assuming that for the conversion there should be no long coding required, just adaptation channel changes? Thanks again.

Hello everyone. I have a dilemma. I was trying to remove NAR restriction for my Canadian GSW. I was able to follow all instructions properly until I reach the 'Basic Settings' wherein I have to change it to ACTIVE. For some reason it keeps saying NOT ACTIVE and even if I tap on it, it won't do anything - won't give the option so select ACTIVE. Now I have the AFS warning on the dash that won't go away Any thoughts?
